Derri Derra is a rural locality in the North Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. In the Derri Derra had a population of 146 people. History Derri Derra Provisional School opened on 7 March 1927. In 1951 it became Derri Derra State School. It closed on 6 August 1971. It was on the north-west corner of the junction of Mundubbera Durong Road and Back Derra Road (). Beeron Road Provisional School opened on 5 September 1927. In 1952 it became Beeron Road State School. It closed on 11 December 1987. It was at 1070 Beeron Road (). The school grounds are used as a sports and recreation area under the control of the North Burnett Regional Council. In the Derri Derra had a population of 146 people. Burnett River
The Burnett River is a river located in the Wide Bay–Burnett and Central Queensland regions of Queensland, Australia. Course and features The Burnett River rises in the Burnett Range, part of the Great Dividing Range, close to Mount Gaeta and east of Monto. It drains a basin covering 33,210 km² which is 1.9% of the total area of Queensland. The river flows generally south past Eidsvold and Mundubbera before heading east, adjacent to the townships of Gayndah and Wallaville before entering the city of Bundaberg. The river flows into the Coral Sea at Burnett Heads, roughly from Bundaberg. The river descends over its course. The Burnett River region is largely given over to growing sugar cane and small crops. Geography The locality is bounded to the north, west and south by the Burnett River. The land is used for farming. History Riverleigh State School opened 15 October 1913.
