Derek Eberle
Derek Eberle (born July 18, 1972) is a Canadian retired professional roller hockey defenceman, who played with the New Jersey Rockin' Rollers 1996. He played 15 games in Roller Hockey International, and scored 3 goals, and 10 assists with New Jersey. Eberle also had a lengthy minor league ice hockey career, and is a cousin to Jordan Eberle. Playing career Eberle played junior hockey from 1988 to 1993, with the Moose Jaw Warriors and Regina Pats. Defenceman (ice Hockey)
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). They were once called cover-point. In regular play, two defencemen complement three forwards and a goaltender on the ice. The Manitoba Moose are a professional ice hockey team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and a member of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Pensacola Ice Pilots were a professional ice hockey team located in Pensacola, Florida. The team was previously affiliated with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders (2006β07), and the Chicago Blackhawks. They have also had a working agreement with the Houston Aeros of the AHL for the 04β05 season. The Ayr Scottish Eagles were a professional Scottish ice hockey club, from Ayr, Scotland. They were formed in 1996 and played their home games at the Centrum Arena (Prestwick), Centrum Arena.
