Deportivo La Guaira (formerly known as Real Esppor) is a professional Football (soccer), football club promoted to the Primera División Venezolana, Venezuelan league in 2009, based in La Guaira but playing its home games in Caracas at the Estadio Olímpico (Caracas), Estadio Olímpico de la UCV. History Real Esppor The club was founded in Caracas on 21 July 2008 under the name ''Real Esppor Club'', with Esppor being a combination of the words ''España'' (Spain) and ''Portugal'' due to the fact that the founders of the club were entrepreneurs with Spanish and Portuguese ancestry. It was originally intended to be the reincarnation of Deportivo Galicia, four-time champions of the Venezuelan Primera División, however the debts the original club still had with the Venezuelan Football Federation prevented the founders from using said name. Estadio Olímpico (Caracas)
Estadio Olímpico de la UCV is a multipurpose stadium (football, athletics, rugby) used mainly for association football in Caracas, Venezuela, which serves the home ground of Caracas F.C., Deportivo La Guaira, Metropolitanos F.C., and Universidad Central. It has a capacity of 23,940. History The stadium was designed by Venezuelan architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva. It was opened in 1951 and renovated in 2007. It used to be the home ground of Unión S.C. 2012 Copa Sudamericana
The 2012 Copa Sudamericana de Clubes (officially the 2012 Copa Bridgestone Sudamericana de Clubes for sponsorship reasons) was the 11th edition of the Copa Sudamericana, South America's secondary international club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was expanded from 39 teams to 47 teams, allowing the eight associations other than Argentina and Brazil to each enter four teams instead of three teams. Universidad de Chile were the defending champions, but lost to eventual champion, São Paulo in the quarterfinals. Brazilian club São Paulo were crowned as the champion after defeating Argentine club Tigre in the finals. The 2012 Copa Libertadores de América (officially the 2012 Copa Santander Libertadores for sponsorship reasons) was the 53rd edition of the Copa Libertadores de América, South America's premier international club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. It ran from January 24 to July 4, 2012. Santos were the defending champions, but lost to Corinthians in the semifinals. São Paulo-based club Corinthians won the competition, with an undefeated campaign, after defeating six-time champion Boca Juniors in the finals. It is Corinthians' first Libertadores title. Noel 'Chita' Sanvicente Bethelmy (born 21 December 1964) is a Venezuelan football manager and former player who played as a forward. He is the current manager of Academia Puerto Cabello. Sanvicente is a former head coach of the Venezuela national team. He is the most successful manager in the country's history, having won 13 national championship titles and one cup with four teams.
