Deportivo El Tecal
Sport West FC also known as ''Club Deportivo Vista Alegre'' is a Panamanian football team, for several seasons played at second tier championships and currently playing at amateur level after being disaffiliated in 2017. They are based in Vista Alegre, Arraiján, but usually play their home games at the Estadio Agustín Sánchez in La Chorrera. History Deportivo El Tecal The team was known as ''Deportivo El Tecal'' from Vacamonte and was promoted to the Liga Nacional de Ascenso (LNA) as part of the league's expansion for the 2009 season as runner-up of the 2009 season of the Copa Rommel Fernández (which they lost 5–4 to Millenium). Corn nuts, also known as toasted corn, are a snack food made of roasted or deep-fried corn kernels. It is referred to as ''cancha'' in Peru and ''chulpi'' in Ecuador. Preparation Corn nuts are prepared by soaking whole corn kernels in water for three days, then deep-frying them in oil until they are hard and brittle. The kernels are soaked because they shrink during the harvesting and cleaning process, and rehydration returns them to their original size. The Liga Nacional de Ascenso 2009 season (officially ''"Torneo Primera A 2009"'') started on February 28, 2009. The defending champion and Apertura winner was Río Abajo and the Clausura winner was Orión. On December 12, 2009, a grand final was played where Río Abajo were crowned champions of the Liga Nacional de Ascenso after defeating Orión 3–1. However (as it happened in the 2008 edition) Río Abajo lost the promotion play-off, but this time against Alianza in a 2–1 aggregate score, thus failing to promote to the Liga Panameña de Fútbol. The champion was promoted directly without playing a promotion play-off.
