Denny McCarthy
Denny McCarthy (born March 4, 1993) is an American professional golfer. Amateur career McCarthy was born in Takoma Park, Maryland. He played competitively on the junior golf circuit beginning at the age of 10, finding a lot of success on the MAPGA junior tou He played varsity golf and basketball at Georgetown Preparatory School. He played college golf at the University of Virginia where he was a two-time All-American. McCarthy played on the 2010 Junior Ryder Cup team along with Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Ollie Schniederjans. While he was a senior at UVA, McCarthy led the United States to victory in the 2014 World Amateur Team Championship (Eisenhower Trophy) along with Beau Hossler and Bryson DeChambeau. Takoma Park is a city in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is a suburb of Washington, D.C., Washington, and part of the Washington metropolitan area. 2015 Walker Cup
The 45th Walker Cup Match was played on 12 and 13 September 2015 at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, England. Great Britain and Ireland won 16½ to 9½. Format On Saturday, there are four matches of foursomes in the morning and eight singles matches in the afternoon. On Sunday, there are again four matches of foursomes in the morning, followed by ten singles matches in the afternoon. In all, 26 matches are played. Each of the 26 matches is worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match is all square after the 18th hole extra holes are not played. Rather, each side earns ½ a point toward their team total. The team that accumulates at least 13½ points wins the competition. In the event of a tie, the current holder retains the Cup. 2014 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2014 Eisenhower Trophy took place 10–13 September on the Iriyama and Oshitate courses at Karuizawa 72 Golf East in Karuizawa, Japan. It was the 29th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy and the second to be held in Japan. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 67 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team played two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played on the Oshitate course on the third day and on the Iriyama course on the final day. United States won their 15th Eisenhower Trophy, two strokes ahead of Canada, who took the silver medal. Spain took the bronze medal one stroke ahead of Sweden at fourth. The Players Championship
The Players Championship (commonly known as simply The Players, stylized by the PGA Tour as The PLAYERS Championship) is an annual golf tournament on the PGA Tour. Originally known as the Tournament Players Championship, it began in 1974. The Players Championship at one point offered the highest purse of any tournament in golf ($20 million). Lucas Hendley Glover (born November 12, 1979) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. He is best known for winning the 2009 U.S. Open. Early years and amateur career Glover was born in Greenville, South Carolina, the son of Ron Musselman and Hershey Hendley (the daughter of former pro football player Dick Hendley). Musselman and Hendley separated in 1981 (when Lucas was two) and divorced the following year.
