Albert Denison, 1st Baron Londesborough
Albert Denison Denison, 1st Baron Londesborough, KCH, FRS, FSA (21 October 1805 β 15 January 1860) was a British Whig Party politician and diplomat, known as Lord Albert Conyngham from 1816 to 1849. Early life and career Born Albert Denison Conyngham, he was the third son of Henry Conyngham, 1st Marquess Conyngham and Elizabeth Denison. He was educated at Eton, and was commissioned a cornet and sub-lieutenant in the Royal Horse Guards, in 1821, before joining the diplomatic service. On 28 April 1826, he purchased an unattached infantry lieutenancy. In 1824, he was an AttachΓ© to Berlin, then Vienna in 1825, and Secretary of the Legation to Florence in 1828, and to Berlin, from 1829 to 1831. Conyngham was knighted in 1829, and at the 1835 general election he was elected as Whig Member of Parliament for Canterbury, a seat he held until 1841, when he did not contest the election. Denison Cabral is a retired Brazilian-American soccer forward /midfielder who played professionally in the Continental Indoor Soccer League, NPSL II, National Professional Soccer League and USISL. He played three games for the United States national futsal team at the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup, scoring one goal for the American team. William Denison
Sir William Thomas Denison (3 May 1804 β 19 January 1871) was Lieutenant Governor of Van Diemen's Land from 1847 to 1855, Governor of New South Wales from 1855 to 1861, and Governor of Madras from 1861 to 1866. According to Percival Serle, Denison was a man of high character and a good administrator. In his early days in Tasmania he spoke too frankly about the colonists in communications which he regarded as confidential, and this accentuated the feeling against him as a representative of the colonial office during the anti-transportation and responsible government movements. He showed great interest in the life of the colony, and helped to foster education, science and trade, during the period when Tasmania was developing into a prosperous colony. Walter Denison (10 November 1870 β 2 October 1954) was a New Zealand lawn bowls player who won a gold medal in the men's pair at the Lawn bowls at the 1938 British Empire Games, 1938 British Empire Games. Early life Born in Auckland on 10 November 1870, Denison was the son of Mary and William Denison. As a young man, he was active as a swimmer, rower, wrestler and boxer, and in later life he was a timekeeper for the Auckland Wrestling Association for 20 years. Robert Denison (1697β1766) was a soldier and political figure in Connecticut and Nova Scotia. He was elected to the Connecticut General Assembly in 1737, 1742, 1751 and 1756. He was a leader of the New England Planters who settled Nova Scotia and represented King's County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1761 to 1764. Joseph J. Denison (October 1, 1815 β February 19, 1900) was a Methodist pastor; the first President of Kansas State University; and a founder of Manhattan, Kansas, having volunteered to go to Kansas Territory with the New England Emigrant Aid Company in 1855 to fight against the extension of slavery. Denison was born in Bernardston, Massachusetts and raised in Colrain, Massachusetts. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1840, and then served as a Methodist pastor in Massachusetts until 1855.
