Denis Hollenstein
Denis Hollenstein (born 15 October 1989) is a Swiss professional ice hockey winger who currently plays for the ZSC Lions in the National League (NL). Playing career On 8 December 2015, Hollenstein signed a three-year contract extension worth to continue playing for Kloten. On 21 November 2017, it was announced that despite having a contract valid through the 2019–20 season with Kloten, Hollenstein would join the ZSC Lions for the 2018–19 season. The Lions paid Kloten a SFr 2 million fee to acquire Hollenstein. Meanwhile, rumors circulated that Hollenstein's contract with the ZSC had been increased to SFr 1 million per season. It was officially confirmed on 27 November 2017 that Hollenstein had agreed to a five-year contract worth SFr 5 million with the Lions. It was won by ZSC Lions after beating Kloten Flyers 4-0 in the playoff final. The Swiss League is the second tier of the main professional ice hockey league in Switzerland, behind the National League. The winners of the league each season plays a best-of-seven series against the bottom team of the NL, and if they win, they are promoted, while the National League team is relegated to the Swiss League. Prior to the 2017–18 season, the league was formerly called National League B. The league attendance in 2018–19 was about 2,700 spectators. HC Thurgau
Hockey Club Thurgau is a Swiss professional ice hockey club based in Weinfelden, Switzerland. The club was founded in 1989 and currently plays in the Swiss League (SL) at the Güttingersreuti, with a capacity of 3,200. History HC Thurgau emerged from the merging of clubs EHC Frauenfeld and EHC Weinfelden. With the best players of the two ice hockey clubs, both located in Canton Thurgau, were to play as HC Thurgau. The National League (NL) is a professional ice hockey league in Switzerland and is the top tier of the Swiss league system. Prior to the 2017–18 season, the league was known as National League A. During the 2018–19 season, the league had an average of 6,949 spectators per game which is the highest among European leagues (ahead of the KHL with 6,397 and the DEL with 6,215). The capital city's club SC Bern has been ranked first of all European clubs for 18 seasons and had an average attendance of 16,290 after the regular season. The 2009–10 National League A season was the third ice hockey season of the National League A since the reorganization of the Swiss league. Prior to the season, no promotion and relegation occurred between the National League A and National League B as a result of NLA club Biel's victory over Lausanne in the prior season's relegation playoff. Format The regular season schedule consists of a double round-robin, each of the league's twelve teams playing the other eleven four times apiece, twice at home and twice on the road. Each team plays an additional six games against three opponents, which are schedules based upon the previous season's standings. At the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams are entered into the playoffs; the bottom four enter a relegation playoff, commonly called the playout. 2008–09 OHL Season
The 2008–09 OHL season was the 29th season of the Ontario Hockey League. Twenty teams played 68 games each during the regular season schedule, which started on September 17, 2008 and concluded on March 15, 2009. The OHL inaugurated the Mickey Renaud Captain's Trophy following his death in the previous season. The Windsor Spitfires played their last game at Windsor Arena on December 4, defeating the Guelph Storm, 2–1. The Spitfires played their first game at the WFCU Centre on December 11 against the Belleville Bulls, losing the game 4–0. The playoffs began on March 18, 2009, and ended on May 8, 2009 with the Windsor Spitfires winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup, and a berth in the 2009 Memorial Cup which was held in Rimouski, Quebec.
