Denis Hamlett
Denis Hamlett (born January 9, 1969) is a Costa Rican-American former professional association football, soccer player and coach currently serving as sporting director for the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer. Hamlett spent his entire professional career in the US, playing with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (1988–94), Fort Lauderdale Strikers and the Colorado Rapids, as well as indoor soccer with the Harrisburg Heat (NPSL/MISL), Harrisburg Heat and Anaheim Splash. He has been a member of coaching staffs with Chicago Fire Soccer Club, Chicago Fire, Vancouver Whitecaps, Montreal Impact (MLS), Montreal Impact and New York Red Bulls, including a two-season stint as head coach in Chicago. Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Vancouver. They compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The MLS iteration of the club was established on March 18, 2009, and began play in 2011 as the 17th team to enter Major League Soccer while replacing the USSF Division 2 team of the same name in the city, making them a phoenix club and the third to carry the Whitecaps name. The club has been owned and managed by the same group since their USSF days. In the 2012 season, the team became the first Canadian team to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs. The Whitecaps have won two Canadian Championships, in 2015 and 2022. Silver Spring is a census-designated place (CDP) in southeastern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, near Washington, D.C. Although officially unincorporated, in practice it is an edge city, with a population of 81,015 at the 2020 census, making it the fifth-most populous place in Maryland after Baltimore, Columbia, Germantown, and Waldorf. Generation Adidas is a joint venture between Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer aimed at raising the level of young professional soccer talent in the United States. The program, sponsored by Adidas, offers professional-ready players in the U.S. developmental system not yet eligible for the MLS SuperDraft early entry, allowing MLS to compete with foreign professional clubs without comparable restrictions on player signing. The Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL) was a professional indoor soccer league that played from 1993 to 1997. American Professional Soccer League
The American Professional Soccer League (APSL) was a professional men's soccer league with teams from the United States and later Canada. It was formed in 1990 by the merger of the third American Soccer League with the Western Soccer League. It was the first outdoor soccer league to feature teams from throughout the United States since the demise of the North American Soccer League in 1984. The league was sanctioned as Division II in the United States soccer league system but was the country's ''de facto'' top professional soccer league until 1995.
