Deltaville
Deltaville is a small unincorporated community and census-designated place on the eastern tip of Middlesex County in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Virginia. It is known for being a vacation spot for those looking for sailing, fishing, and other activities associated with the water. The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution on October 2, 2012 supporting the efforts of the official naming, " Deltaville, The Boating Capital of the Chesapeake Bay." Approximately 500-800 full-time residents call Deltaville home; however, the town's population swells to several thousand in the summer months. Deltaville is also home to numerous retirees. The Census Bureau defines Deltaville as a census-designated place (CDP) with a population of 1,119 as of 2010. Deltaville Ballpark
Deltaville Ballpark was originally built in 1948, and is owned by the Deltaville Community Association. Located at the end of Ballpark Road in Deltaville, Virginia, it hosts baseball games from several different teams and organizations. History The ballpark was originally constructed in 1948, and hosted its first game in June of that year. In 1976, the first major renovation occurred, when much of the grandstand was rebuilt due to concerns of structural stability. A second renovation occurred in 1996, which saw the construction of new dugouts and replacement of the outfield fence. In 2016, a multi-year renovation began to help preserve and appropriately renovate the ballpark. Over the winter of 2016-17, the 68-year-old roof was replaced. Middlesex County is a county located on the Middle Peninsula in the U.S. state of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 10,625. Its county seat is Saluda.
