Delta Academies Trust
Delta Academies Trust (formerly Schools Partnership Trust Academies) is a multi-academy trust, operating 46 schools. As an academy trust, it is an exempt charity regulated by the Department for Education. Its current CEO is Paul Tarn. A critical report from Ofsted in early 2016 prompted reforms at Schools Partnership Trust Academies. A new CEO—Paul Tarn, formerly deputy CEO of Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT)—was appointed; he was joined by a Maths and English Director who transferred to Delta shortly after the CEO took up post. It went on to rebrand as "Delta Academies Trust" as of October 2016. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. The terms of the arrangements are set out in individual Academy Funding Agreements. Most academies are secondary schools, though slightly more than 25% of primary schools (4,363 as of December 2017) are academies. Academies are self-governing non-profit charitable trusts and may receive additional support from personal or corporate sponsors, either financially or in kind. Academies are inspected and follow the same rules on admissions, special educational needs and exclusions as other state schools and students sit the same national exams. They have more autonomy with the National Curriculum, but do have to ensure that their curriculum is broad and balanced, and that it includes the core subjects of English, maths and science. Bradford
Bradford is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Bradford district in West Yorkshire, England. The city is in the Pennines' eastern foothills on the banks of the Bradford Beck. Bradford had a population of 349,561 at the 2011 census; the second-largest population centre in the county after Leeds, which is to the east of the city. Hull Trinity House Academy is a secondary school in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Description The school was established on 2 February 1787 as Hull Trinity House Marine School. Hanson Academy (formerly Hanson Grammar School and then Hanson School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Goole is a port town and civil parish on the River Ouse in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The town's historic county is the West Riding of Yorkshire. Goole Academy, is a mixed 11–18 secondary school located in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated just off the A614 road in the east of Goole. History The school's original motto was ''Alta Pete'', Latin for "Aim High". Grammar school Goole Academy was first opened as Goole Grammar School in 1909, making it the longest running school in Goole. It was administered by West Riding County Council, based in Wakefield. Don Valley Academy
Don Valley Academy member of Delta Academies Trust (formerly Don Valley School and Performing Arts College) is a mixed 11–18 Academy located in Scawthorpe, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. The school also has a Sixth Form centre. History The original school was built in the mid-1950s, with the first intake of pupils in September 1957. What was effectively another school was built in the mid-1960s as part of the move by the West Riding County Council to comprehensive education. It had more facilities than the existing one, including a swimming pool and much enhanced stage facilities in the main hall. The new school took up approximately half of the former playing fields . The De Warenne Academy is a secondary school with academy status on ''Gardens Lane'' in Conisbrough, South Yorkshire, England. The Academy is sponsored by Delta Academies trust who also support many other schools in Doncaster. History The school changed its name (from Northcliffe School) in September 2009, when it became an academy and moved into a new building in 2013. Previously it had been Northcliffe School, a secondary modern school. The school was the centre of controversy in the early 2000s due to a proposal to convert it into an academy run by the Emmanuel Schools Foundation, a Christian charity.
