Louis Delmas (; born April 12, 1987) is a former American football safety. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at Western Michigan. He was also a member of the Miami Dolphins. Early years Delmas is of Haitian descent. He was born in Delmas, a commune in the Port-au-Prince area in Haiti, on a street named ''Delmas 25'' and moved to Miami, Florida at age 11. When he first arrived he did not speak any English. Antoine Guillaume Delmas
Antoine-Guillaume Maurailhac Delmas de La Coste Delmas (3 January 1766 – 30 October 1813) was a French military officer who served in the French Revolutionary Wars and Napoleonic Wars. Delmas was killed at the Battle of Leipzig. cites Delmas was born in Argentat in the Kingdom of France on 3 January 1766. He was wounded at the Battle of Leipzig and later died on 30 October 1813 in Leipzig. His name is inscribed on the east pillar of the Arc de Triomphe. Early Military Experiences In 1781, Delmas became a gentleman cadet in the Touraine infantry regiment. He was commissioned as a sous-lieutenant three years later before being promoted to a lieutenant in 1787. Delmas was dismissed from the regiment for insubordination in 1788. Delmas ( ht, Dèlma) is a commune in the Port-au-Prince Arrondissement, in the Ouest department of Haiti. Delmas itself is an urban continuation of the capital city. Delmas is also the location of much of the area's commercial and industrial enterprise. Delmas is traversed by two major roadways. Autoroute de Delmas runs from Route National No. 1 in the northwest corner of the commune to Pétion-Ville on the southeast corner. Boulevard de Toussaint Louverture runs from Autoroute de Delmas to the Toussaint Louverture International Airport and beyond to the commune of Tabarre. Autoroute de Delmas is flanked on both sides by local roads. These roads are numbered, with odd numbers on the north side and even numbers on the south side. Sophie Delmas is a French actress and singer. Biography Delmas was born to a Bohemian family. She is the grandchild of opera singers and began her training at the Studio des Variétés. She sang with Marcel Mouloudji. She then toured for two years with the trio ''3 fois Danger'' and sang with the gospel chorus of Mariah Carey in Bercy in 1996. Marc Marie Jean Baptiste Delmas (28 March 188530 November 1931) was a French Expressionist composer and writer. Life and career Marc Delmas was born in Saint-Quentin, Aisne, France, and studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Xavier Leroux and Paul Vidal. He won the Prix Rossini in 1911 with ''Anne Marie'', Second Grand Prix de Rome with his cantata ''Le et la Fée Poète'' and later the Prix Cressent and Prix Ambroise-Thomas. In 1914 Delmas and Marcel Dupré were tied for first prize on the first ballot of the Prix de Rome, and Camille Saint-Saëns was called in to break the tie. He voted for Dupré, and Delmas took second prize. Delmas taught music in Paris, and was a biographer of noted musicians. Jean-François Delmas (14 April 1861 – 29 September 1933), or Francisque Delmas was a French bass-baritone who created roles in many French operas including Athanaël in ''Thaïs''. Delmas was born in Lyon and studied at the Paris Conservatoire winning first prizes for operatic singing. He made his debut in 1886 as Saint-Bris in ''Les Huguenots'' at the Paris Opéra. Delmas is a small maize farming town situated east of Johannesburg in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The town is located some 19 km north-east of Springs and 73 km south-east of Pretoria. History The town was laid out in 1907 on the farm ''Witklip'' (Afrikaans for ''White Stone'') and has been administered by a town council since 1965. The name was given by the Frenchman Frank Campbell Dumat, former owner of Witklip, after his grandfather's farm in France. He originally laid out the town with 192 residential stands, 48 4 ha small holdings and 138 ha of commonage but by 1909 the governments added a further 5,500 ha to the town. Calixte Delmas (17 June 1906 – 7 April 1927) was a French wrestler and rugby player. He competed in the freestyle featherweight event at the 1924 Summer Olympics. In 1922, he was the wrestling champion of Paris and the Greco-Roman vice-champion of France at 15. In 1924 he was the national champion and the youngest participant at the 1924 Olympics in Paris, where he reached the quarter finals. Benjamin Delmas (born 17 May 1976) is a French former competitive ice dancer. He had the most success with partner Alia Ouabdelsselam. They teamed up in 1997 and split in 2002.
