Delhi Football Team
The Delhi football team is an Indian football team representing Delhi in Indian state football competitions including the Santosh Trophy. Selection is mostly done through Delhi Football League system. They have appeared in the Santosh Trophy finals twice, and have won the trophy only once, in 1944-45. Most recently, a 20-member Delhi football team in the final round of the 69th Senior National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy, that held at Jalandhar and Ludhiana from 1 to 15 March. Santosh Trophy
The Santosh Trophy, officially known as Hero Senior Men's National Football Championship due to sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp, is a state-level football competition contested by the state associations and government institutions under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the sport's governing body in India. Before the starting of the first national club league, the National Football League in 1996, the Santosh Trophy was considered the top domestic honour in India. Many players who have represented India internationally, played and gained honour while playing in the Santosh Trophy. Delhi Football League
The Delhi Football League is organised by Football Delhi (FD) as a ladder-based state football competition involving a total of four divisions and over 80 teams in the Indian state of Delhi. Delhi Premier League is the top-division, started in 1948 as DSA Senior Division. There was no proper local league but the clubs used to participate in private tournaments organised by sport enthusiasts.
