Delena, Oregon
Delena is an unincorporated community in Columbia County, Oregon, United States. It lies along U.S. Route 30 slightly west of Alston and about halfway between Rainier on the east and Clatskanie on the west. Delena had a post office that operated intermittently from April 22, 1892, to March 15, 1922. Lincoln J. Meserve was the first of nine postmasters at this location. Accounts of the origin of the community's name have varied, according to ''Oregon Geographic Names'' (OGN). Yarmouth is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States, twelve miles north of the state's largest city, Portland. Clatskanie, Oregon
Clatskanie is a city in Columbia County, Oregon, United States. It was named for the Tlatskanai Native American tribe, and the Clatskanie River which flows through the town and empties into the Columbia River about four miles to the north. The population was 1,737 at the 2010 census. History The town was originally called Bryantville after the large family who were among the first filers of Donation Land Claims in the area in 1852-53. However, the first postmaster, Enoch Conyers, who was married to one of the Bryant daughters, changed the name to Clatskanie after the Tlatskanai Native American tribe. Rainier, Oregon
Rainier is a city in Columbia County, Oregon, United States. The city's population was 1,895 at the 2010 census. Rainier is on the south bank of the Columbia River across from Kelso and Longview, Washington. History Rainier was founded in 1851 on the south bank of the Columbia River by Charles E. Fox, the town's first postman. First called Eminence, its name was later changed to Fox's Landing and finally to Rainier.
