Del Harris (squash Player)
Del Harris (born 13 July 1969) is a former professional squash player from England. Harris won the World Junior Squash Championships title in 1988, and went on to become one of the leading players in the men's professional game in the 1990s. He represented England in the 1989 Men's World Team Squash Championships and 1991 Men's World Team Squash Championships. In 1995, Harris reached the final of the 1995 Men's World Open Squash Championship, where he lost to the legendary Pakistani player Jansher Khan 15–10, 17–14, 16–17, 15–8. That year Harris was also part of the winning England team in the 1995 Men's World Team Squash Championships and in addition he won the Super Series Finals event, beating Brett Martin of Australia in the final 10–8, 7–9, 9–4, 6–9, 9–2. Squash (sport)
Squash is a racket-and- ball sport played by two or four players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow, rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. The objective of the game is to hit the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. World Squash Championships
The World Squash Championships are squash events for men and women organised by the Professional Squash Association. The men's event was first held in 1976 in London, England and the women's was inaugurated in 1976 in Brisbane, Australia. Overview The British Open had for many years been generally considered to be the sport's effective world championship, and this continued to be the case until the World Open (now called World Championship) was established. The women's World Championship was held once every two years until the early 1990s, when it became an annual event. The men's event has been held every year since 1976, except for a two-year gap in 2000 and 2001 when it was not held due primarily to difficulties in securing sponsorship. World Junior Squash Championships
The World Junior Squash championships are the official junior tournament in the game of squash (sport), squash conducted by the World Squash Federation (WSF). Entry is open to individuals aged 19 and below. Since its inception the world juniors has been held biennially with the junior men (individual and team) held one year, junior women (individual and team) the following year. The men's team event was held unofficially from 1973 to 1979. The individuals event (for both men's and women's) are held annually starting from 2009 while the team event remains biennial. Jansher Khan PP SI HI ( ur, جان شیر خان; born 15 June 1969, in Peshawar, Pakistan) is a former World No. 1 professional Pakistani squash player. During his career, he won the World Open a record eight times, and the British Open six times. Jansher Khan is widely regarded as one of the greatest squash players of all time. Ranked number 1 in the world from January 1988 till January 1998, (513 weeks) (118 months) (9.8 Years) Jansher Khan's retirement in 2001 brought an end to nearly 50 years of domination by Pakistan in the sport of squash. The PSA World Series (formerly known as the PSA Super Series) was a series of men's and women's squash tournaments which were part of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour for the squash season. The tournaments were some of the most prestigious events on the men's tour. The best-performing players in the World Series events qualified for the annual PSA World Series Finals tournament. Each year, several tournaments on the tour were designated World Series events. These included major events such as the World Championship, the British Open, the Hong Kong Open or the Tournament of Champions. Brett Martin (born 23 January 1963) is a former professional squash player who was among the game's leading players in the late-1980s and early-1990s. Brett was part of the winning Australian team at the 1989 Men's World Team Squash Championships and 1991 Men's World Team Squash Championships and was also a runner-up in the 1993 Men's World Team Squash Championships.
