Dehd is an American three-piece indie rock band from Chicago formed in 2015. The band consists of members Emily Kempf (b. September 3, 1984), Jason Balla (b. March 25, 1990), and Eric McGrady (b. June 25, 1988). History The band formed in 2015. ''Dehd'' and ''Fire of Love'' EP In 2016, Dehd released a nine track self-titled album, via the label Maximum Pelt. This was followed by a six track EP, ''Fire of Love'' in 2017, via Infinity Cat Recordings. During the summer of 2017, the band self-recorded its release with borrowed gear in a room in an old Frank Lloyd Wright warehouse. ''Water'' Dehd released their second LP ''Water'' on Fire Talk Records in May 2019. The track "Wild" from ''Water'' was featured in the third episode of season two of The CW series ''Charmed''. ''Blue Skies'' is the fourth studio album by the band Dehd. The album was released on May 27, 2022, by Fat Possum. Background and recording Dehd announced the new album in February 2022. The first single, "Bad Love" was released when the album was announced. NE-HI was a four-piece rock band from Chicago. NE-HI formed to score a friend’s film in the summer of 2013, the foursome—made up of Alex Otake, James Weir, Jason Balla and Mikey Wells—recognized the chemistry between its four members and chose to continue making music. Since then, the foursome has toured the Midwest and East Coast, building a reputation as a promising young American band. Dream Pop
Dream pop (also typeset as dreampop) is a subgenre of alternative rock and neo-psychedelia that emphasizes atmosphere and sonic texture as much as pop melody. Common characteristics include breathy vocals, dense productions, and effects such as reverb, echo, tremolo, and chorus. It often overlaps with the related genre of shoegaze, and the two genre terms have at times been used interchangeably.
