Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Caridad Bravo Adams
Caridad Bravo Adams (; born on January 14, 1908, in Villahermosa, Tabasco – August 13, 1990 in Mexico City) was a prolific Mexico, Mexican writer and the most famous telenovela writer worldwide. She was born to a couple of Cuban actors and she was part of an extended family of artists, being the sister of Venezuelan actor Leon Bravo, one of the pioneers of theater, radio and TV in Venezuela. She published her first book at the age of 16, titled ''Pétalos sueltos''. She then moved back to Cuba with her parents, and later returned to Mexico, where she kept writing and obtained a role in her only film, ''Corazón bandolero'' (1934). She became a chair member of the Ateneo Mexicano de Mujeres and later moved back to Cuba, where she wrote the radionovela ''Yo no creo en los hombres'', which was adapted in Mexico for telenovelas in 1969 and 1988. Telesistema Mexicano was the predecessor of Televisa. Telesistema Mexicano was a television alliance made up of the independently owned television flagship stations XEW Canal 2, XHTV Canal 4, and XHGC Canal 5 in Mexico, Distrito Federal. Lucy Gallardo
Lucy Gallardo (December 13, 1929 – August 11, 2012) was an Argentine-born Mexican actress and screenwriter. She was best known for her numerous roles in Mexican cinema, as well as Mexico's telenovelas. Gallardo was the widow of Mexican actor Enrique Rambal. Life She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on December 13, 1929. Gallardo made her film debut in the 1949 Argentine movie, '' Angeles de uniforme''. She later moved from Argentina to Mexico to pursue her acting career. Gallardo appeared in dozens of films throughout her career. She was cast in the 1962 film, ''The Exterminating Angel'', which was directed and written by Luis Buñuel. She appeared in that film opposite her husband, Enrique Rambal, who died in 1971. Germán Robles
Germán Horacio Robles San Agustín (March 20, 1929 – November 21, 2015) was a Spanish actor who came to Mexico when he was 17, after Spain's civil war. In Mexican cinema, he is best known for his amazing characterization of vampires in many cult movies, especially in ''El Vampiro''. He is said to have influenced Christopher Lee’s performance in his vampire films. Another well known performance is his dubbing the voice of KITT in the Latin American broadcast of ''Knight Rider''.
