Debjit Majumder
Debjit Majumder (born 6 March 1988), is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Indian Super League club Chennaiyin. Early life Majumder hails from Hindmotor, known for Hindustan Motors factory(now closed), in Hooghly district. Playing career Early years Majumder spent early years at Uttarpara Netaji Brigade team under coach Anup Nag. He started his career at Calcutta Football League (CFL) with Food Corporation of India FC (FCI) football team. He went on to play for teams like United Sikkim and Kalighat MS. East Bengal Majumder joined East Bengal for 2011–12 season and made 4 appearances. Bhawanipore Majumder played for I-League 2nd Division team, Bhawanipore F.C. for two seasons and the team came close to promotion during 2014 season. Hindmotor
Hind Motor is a town in Uttarpara Kotrung Municipality of Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is situated on the western bank of the Hooghly River. It is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). The town is prominent as it developed and named, for a Hindustan Motors factory, shared with the neighbouring Uttarpara and Konnagar suburbs. The factory had been in the area, known as Hindmotor colony since 1948 and was the sole manufacturing site of the famous Hindustan Ambassador. United Sikkim Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Gangtok, Sikkim. Founded in 2011, the club usually competed in the Sikkim Premier Division League. United Sikkim is the only club from Sikkim to have played in the I-League, one of the top flights of Indian football league system. The club which is owned by former India captain Bhaichung Bhutia, was founded in order to give people of the Indian state of Sikkim a professional football team. The 2016 AFC Champions League qualifying play-off was played from 27 January to 9 February 2016. A total of 21 teams competed in the qualifying play-off to decide eight of the 32 places in the group stage of the 2016 AFC Champions League. Shilton Paul (born 10 June 1988) is an Indian professional footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for I-League club Churchill Brothers. Career Mohun Bagan AC After graduating from Tata Football Academy, Paul signed with I-League club Mohun Bagan in 2006. He got to play his first match in an AFC Cup encounter. Since his debut, Shilton has been an integral part of the Mohun Bagan team every year. Bhowanipore (also Bhowanipur; bn, ভবানীপুর) is a neighbourhood of South Kolkata in Kolkata district of West Bengal, India. History In 1717, the East India Company obtained the right to rent from 38 villages surrounding their settlement from the Mughal emperor Farrukhsiyar. Of these, 5 lay across the Hooghly in what is now Howrah district. The remaining 33 villages were on the Calcutta side. After the fall of Siraj-ud-daulah, the last independent Nawab of Bengal, it purchased these villages in 1758 from Mir Jafar, and reorganised them.
