Deba Singh
Debendra Prasad "Deba" Singh (born 1943) is a former Indian footballer who played as a defender for Orissa and the India national team. Personal life He is the father of former Indian international footballer Rajendra Prasad Singh. Singh received the first OSJA (Odisha Sports Journalists’ Association) awards in 2018. Club career He played for Orissa Police in the Cuttack Senior League domestically. Singh was part of the Orissa team which was coached by Amal Dutta and captained the squad that reached the semi-finals in the 1967–68 edition of the Santosh Trophy by defeating Andhra Pradesh. Cuttack
Cuttack (, or officially Kataka ) in Odia is the former capital and the second largest city in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the headquarters of the Cuttack district. The Santosh Trophy, officially known as Hero Senior Men's National Football Championship due to sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp, is a state-level football competition contested by the state associations and government institutions under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the sport's governing body in India. Before the starting of the first national club league, the National Football League in 1996, the Santosh Trophy was considered the top domestic honour in India. Many players who have represented India internationally, played and gained honour while playing in the Santosh Trophy. Amal Dutta (4 May 1930 – 10 July 2016) was a former Indian footballer, coach and football manager. Born in Calcutta, then Bengal Presidency, he is considered as the first professional football coach in the country. Rajendra Prasad "R. P." Singh (born 11 July 1974) is an Indian former footballer who played as a midfielder for Mohun Bagan and the India national team. Early life Singh was born in Cuttack, Odisha and is the son of former Odisha state football team captain and international footballer Debendra Prasad Singh. Club career Singh started playing football for SAI Hostel in Odisha in 1990. He played for SBI in the Cuttack League and later went to play for major division Indian clubs Mohun Bagan and Mahindra United FC.
