Motherwell
Motherwell ( sco, Mitherwall, gd, Tobar na Màthar) is a town and former burgh in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, south east of Glasgow. It has a population of around 32,120. Historically in the parish of Dalziel and part of Lanarkshire, Motherwell is the headquarters for North Lanarkshire Council. Geographically the River Clyde separates Motherwell from Hamilton to the west whereas the South Calder Water separates Motherwell from Carfin to the north-east and New Stevenston and Bellshill towards the north. Motherwell is also geographically attached to Wishaw and the two towns form a large urban area in North Lanarkshire, with both towns having similar populations and strong community ties. 2009 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup
Starting its third season, the 2009 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup season continued the search for future World Champions. The 2009 season begins with two races during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend at Jerez on May 2 and May 3 and ends with another double header at the Czech Republic Grand Prix in Brno on August 15 and August 16. Another six European GPs see single Rookies races on each Saturday, making it an eight-race championship, which is two more races than the last season. The commercial rights of the championship are held by the rights-holders for the MotoGP World Championships, Dorna Sports. The Czech Jakub Kornfeil was proclaimed champion in the last race, in only his second season of road racing. 2010 San Marino And Rimini's Coast Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2010 San Marino and Rimini Riviera motorcycle Grand Prix was the twelfth round of the 2010 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 3–5 September 2010 at the Misano World Circuit. The event was marred by the death of Shoya Tomizawa from injuries sustained in a crash during the Moto2 race. Death of Shoya Tomizawa During the 12th lap of the Moto2 race, Shoya Tomizawa was riding in fourth position in a seven-bike pack. The pack consisted of Toni Elías who was leading the race, followed by Simone Corsi, Julián Simón, Tomizawa, Alex de Angelis, Scott Redding and Jules Cluzel. The 2010 Indianapolis Grand Prix was the eleventh round of the 2010 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of August 27–29, 2010 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. During a support event for MotoGP, the second of two United States Grand Prix Racer Union 250cc (age 12–18) races during the race meet on August 29, 13-year-old Peter Lenz was killed during the warmup lap before the start. The 2010 German motorcycle Grand Prix was the eighth round of the 2010 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 16–18 July 2010 at the Sachsenring, located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Germany. MotoGP classification After a four-round absence due to a broken leg sustained at the Mugello Circuit, Valentino Rossi made his return to the MotoGP grid. A crash between Randy de Puniet, Álvaro Bautista and Aleix Espargaró caused the race to be red-flagged on the 10th lap. All three riders were eligible to make the restart as the results of the first race go back to the last lap therefore showing the riders being classified. However they failed to return to the pits with their bike within five minutes of the race being stopped and therefore were not allowed to make the restart. The 2010 Italian motorcycle Grand Prix was the fourth round of the 2010 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 4–6 June 2010 at the Mugello Circuit. Seven-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi suffered a displaced compound fracture of his right tibia in free practice, after losing control of his Yamaha in one of the circuit's fast corners.
