Dean Mountain is a police officer, and a professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He played at club level for Stanley Rangers ARLFC, Pointer Panthers (now named Castleford Panthers, Castleford ( Heritage № 631), Ryedale-York and Huddersfield, as a , or , his rugby league career was ended by damage to his cruciate ligaments, sustained during a tackle in an A-Team evening game in January 1991, following a recovery from a broken bone in his thumb. Mountain also represented Great Britain under-21s against France in 1987. Castleford Tigers
The Castleford Tigers are a professional rugby league club in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England, that compete in the Super League, the top-level professional rugby league club competition in the Northern Hemisphere. The club have competed in the top division for the majority of their existence, having only been relegated twice in their history. They have won the Challenge Cup four times. Their most recent major trophy was the 1986 Challenge Cup. Castleford have a rivalry with neighbours Featherstone Rovers and Wakefield Trinity. York Wasps
The York Wasps (known simply as York from 1868 to 1989, Ryedale-York from 1989 to 1996 and York Wasps from 1996 to 2002) was an English professional rugby league club based in York. At the start of the 2002 season, the club was dissolved. A new club, York City Knights was established to take the Wasps' place for the 2003 season. History Early years The club was first formed as "York Football Club" in 1868 and played both association and rugby football, for the first few seasons they had portable goal posts as they did not have their own ground and would play wherever they could find a pitch.
