Dead Trees
''Dead Trees'' is the fifth studio album by post-hardcore band From First to Last, released April 23, 2015, via Sumerian Records. It is the first and only release to feature vocalist Spencer Sotelo (singer of progressive metal band Periphery (band), Periphery), Taylor Larson as third guitarist, and new drummer, Ernie Slenkovich (original drummer Derek Bloom would return to the band in 2016). Returning to the group is guitarist/vocalist and founder Travis Richter, who had left the band in 2009. The band planned for the release to be an EP but due to the success of their Kickstarter campaign, the band had enough money to fund this LP. From First To Last
From First to Last is an American post-hardcore band based in the Los Angeles Area and Tampa, Florida. Formed by Matt Good, Scott Oord, and Parker Nelms in November 1999, the current line-up consists of Matt Good (lead guitar, vocals), Sonny Moore (lead vocals), Travis Richter (rhythm guitar, unclean vocals), and Derek Bloom (drums). The band released their first EP titled ''Aesthetic'' in 2003 which they recorded with founding member and vocalist Phillip Reardon who left the band in 2004 due to personal and creative differences. ''Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount'' followed in 2004 and ''Heroine'' in 2006, both with Moore; both these albums sold a combined total of 304,000 copies in the United States without much radio airplay. Periphery (band)
Periphery is an American progressive metal band formed in Washington, D.C. in 2005. Their musical style has been described as progressive metal, djent, and progressive metalcore. They are considered one of the pioneers of the djent movement within progressive metal. They have also received a Grammy nomination. Travis Brandon Richter (born November 3, 1981 in Albany, Georgia) is an American musician, Singing, singer and record producer. He is known for being the vocalist and guitarist of the band From First to Last and the lead vocalist of The Color of Violence and The Human Abstract (band), The Human Abstract. He is also a record producer (I Set My Friends on Fire, Snails (DJ), Snails, Lil Zubin, Etc.) and in 2018 cofounded a music venue in Los Angeles, CA called "1720", with Alex Alereza (Nekrogoblikon) and Brett Powell (The Human Abstract (band), The Human Abstract). Derek Bloom
Derek Bloom (born January 30, 1983 in South Pasadena, California) is an American musician and singer, known for drumming in post-hardcore band From First to Last for all of their time as a band until their revival. He left From First to Last in November 2013, later rejoining in 2017. He is also the drummer for his grindcore side-project with Travis Richter, known as The Color of Violence. Progressive Metal
