''Dead Horses'' is the sixth full-length album by the band Evergreen Terrace. It was released through Rise Records on December 10, 2013, the band's first release through the label. It is the first album not featuring guitarist Josh James, who was replaced by Alex Varian. It is also the band's first ablum with bassist Jason Southwell since 2007's ''Wolfbiker''. Background and release The album was recorded in the summer of 2013. The first song released from the album was the title track on October 22. The song "When You're Born in the Gutter, You End Up in the Port" was released on November 19. Evergreen Terrace
Evergreen Terrace is a five-piece American metalcore band from Jacksonville, Florida. Formed in 1999, they are named after the street inhabited by the Simpsons. The band's sixth and latest studio album ''Dead Horses'' was released on December 10, 2013, via Rise Records. History Formation and early recordings Formed in 1999 by Josh James (guitar), Andrew Carey (vocals), Josh "Woody" Willis (guitar), Josh Smith (bass) and Christopher Brown (drums), the band released one Demo-EP and a Split-EP together with Cordelle within the first year of being a band. Within 8 months of the beginning of the band Woody and Josh Smith were replaced by Craig Chaney (guitar/vocals) and Jason Southwell (bass). In 2001 their debut-album '' Losing All Hope Is Freedom'' was released via Indianola Records on July 31. Melodic Hardcore
Melodic hardcore is a broadly defined subgenre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on melody in its guitar work. It generally incorporates fast rhythms, melodic and often distorted guitar riffs, and vocal styles tending towards shouting and screaming. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Stick to Your Guns is an American hardcore punk band from Orange County, California. Members of the band include Jesse Barnett (vocals), Andrew Rose (bass), George Schmitz (drums), Chris Rawson and Josh James (guitars). They are currently signed with Pure Noise Records. History Early years, ''For What It's Worth'', and ''Comes From the Heart'' (2003–2008) Frontman Jesse Barnett formed the band by recruiting Casey Lagos (whom he knew from his days on the worship team for Saddleback Church) on drums. It is the band's first album to feature drummer Kyle Mims.
