Giuliana De Sio (born 2 April 1956) is an Italian actress, the younger sister of pop-folk singer Teresa De Sio. She won two David di Donatello for Best Actress and different Silver Ribbons for Best Actress. Biography and career Giuliana De Sio was born in Salerno and grew up in Cava de' Tirreni, where her family is originally from. De Sio's first public appearance was when she was five years old in a show at Teatro Verdi in Salerno. She moved to Terrasini when she was eighteen to live in a hippy commune before relocating to Rome, where she befriended Teresa Ann Savoy and Alessandro Haber, who encouraged her to take up acting. Her professional debut was in 1976 when Gianni Bongiovanni choose her for the RAI TV film ''Una donna''. Elio Petri then gave her a part in ''Mani sporche'' and Tonino Cervi choose her to star in ''Il malato immaginario'' together with Alberto Sordi. Teresa De Sio (born 3 November 1952) is an Italian pop-folk singer and songwriter. She is the elder sister of actress Giuliana De Sio. Biography and career Teresa De Sio was born in Naples and grew up in Cava de' Tirreni, where her family was originally from. In 1976 she started her career as a vocalist with Eugenio Bennato and Musicanova, a group which focused on Neapolitan folk music. In 1980 she launched her solo career with the album (''Sulla terra sulla luna''). Her second album ''Teresa De Sio'', sung in Neapolitan, was met with critical and commercial success and sold over 500,000 copies in italy. Her third album ''Tre'' (1982), sold over 500,000 copies and reinforced her status as one of Italy's most promising talents; some of her well-known songs from this period include ''Voglia 'e turnà'', ''Aumm aumm'', '''E pazzielle'', ''Terra 'e nisciuno'' and ''Ario'''. Desio
Desio ( lmo, label= Brianzoeu, Des) is a town and in the Province of Monza and Brianza, Italy. History In 1277 it was the location of the battle between the Visconti and della Torre families for the rule of Milan. On 24 February 1924, Desio received the honorary title of city with a royal decree. In 1944 the opera singer Giuseppina Finzi-Magrini was killed in an American air raid on Desio. The town is known for being Pius XI’s birthplace, information which the road sign on Desio’s border recalls. In the centre, more precisely in Via Pio XI 4, tourists and citizens can visit the Pope’s house every Sunday. On November 20, 1998, it was instituted the International Studies and Documentation Center Pius XI, at the presence of Mgr. Maurizio Galli.
