De Ludo Globi
''De ludo globi'' (English: ''The Game of Spheres'', ''The Ball Game'', or ''The Globe Game'') is a book by 15th century philosopher, theologian, and cardinal Nicholas Cusanus. The text was written in Rome and completed in October 1463. It consists of two dialogues, the first between Cusanus and John IV, Duke of Bavaria and the second between Cusanus and John's brother Albert IV, Duke of Bavaria. English Language

Nicholas Cusanus
Nicholas of Cusa (1401 – 11 August 1464), also referred to as Nicholas of Kues and Nicolaus Cusanus (), was a German Catholic cardinal, philosopher, theologian, jurist, mathematician, and astronomer. One of the first German proponents of Renaissance humanism, he made spiritual and political contributions in European history. A notable example of this is his mystical or spiritual writings on "learned ignorance," as well as his participation in power struggles between Rome and the German states of the Holy Roman Empire. As papal legate to Germany from 1446, he was appointed cardinal for his merits by Pope Nicholas V in 1448 and Prince–Bishop of Brixen two years later. In 1459, he became vicar general in the Papal States. Nicholas has remained an influential figure. In 2001, the sixth centennial of his birth was celebrated on four continents and commemorated by publications on his life and work. John IV, Duke Of Bavaria
John IV. of Bavaria-Munich (German: Johann IV., Herzog von Bayern), (4 October 1437, in Munich – 18 November 1463, in Munich) was duke of Bavaria-Munich from 1460 until his death. Biography John IV was a son of Albert III, Duke of Bavaria and ruled as duke of Bavaria-Munich from 1460 in a time of constant unrest of the nobility and strife with the cities. He was known as an avid hunter. Albert IV, Duke Of Bavaria
Albert IV (15 December 1447 – 18 March 1508; german: Albrecht) was duke of Bavaria-Munich from 1467, and duke of the reunited Bavaria from 1503. Biography Albert was a son of Albert III, Duke of Bavaria and Anna of Brunswick-Grubenhagen-Einbeck. He was born in Munich. After the death of his older brother John IV, Duke of Bavaria he gave up his spiritual career and returned from Pavia to Munich. When his brothers Christoph and Wolfgang had resigned Albert became sole duke, but a new duchy Bavaria- Dachau was created from Bavaria-Munich for his brother Duke Sigismund in 1467. After Sigismund's death in 1501, it reverted to Bavaria-Munich. The marriage of Kunigunde of Austria to Albert IV, was a result of intrigues and deception, but must be counted as a defeat for Emperor Frederick III.
