Gelderlander Arnhem
The Gelderlander is a Dutch breed of warmblood horse. It was bred in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands as a carriage horse capable also of farm work. It declined in popularity in the mid-twentieth century. In 1965 it was one of the foundation breeds of the Dutch Warmblood or KWPN, the other being the heavier Groninger horse from the north. It is registered in a division of the Royal Dutch Warmblood Horse Studbook, which also has divisions for the Dutch Warmblood and for the Dutch Harness Horse. It is an endangered breed; in 2017 the breeding population numbered 600 mares and 35 stallions. Gelderland (), also known as Guelders () in English, is a province of the Netherlands, occupying the centre-east of the country. Thomas Von Der Dunk
Thomas von der Dunk (born 2 July 1961, in Soestdijk) is a Dutch cultural historian, writer, and columnist who has written for ''de Volkskrant'' and ''HP/De Tijd''. Von der Dunk was raised in Bilthoven, and from 1979 to 1988 studied art history at the University of Amsterdam. He was a doctoral candidate in the history department at Leiden University (1989–1993), and received his Ph.D. in 1994, having written a dissertation on the political and ideological characteristics of the cult of monuments in the Holy Roman Empire between the fourteenth and the eighteenth century. He worked at Utrecht University from 1994 to 1999, and from 1999 to 2002 again in Leiden. Since 2002 he has been working as a freelance writer and pundit. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics.
