Daynara De Paula
Daynara Lopes Ferreira de Paula (born July 25, 1989, in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil) is a Brazilian butterfly swimmer. International career 2008 Summer Olympics Rooted in São Caetano do Sul as a child, at 11 years old, she won sponsorship to compete across the country. As a Minas Tênis Clube's sportsman, her first major involvement was in 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. At 18, she won her Olympic berth in the last Brazilian trials, the Maria Lenk Trophy in Rio de Janeiro. Daynara got it done in the 100-metre butterfly playoffs, where she swam a time of 59.30 seconds - five hundredths time below the FINA index. This time also broke the South American record of Gabriella Silva, 59.79 seconds. Butterfly Swimming
The butterfly (colloquially shortened to fly) is a swimming stroke swum on the chest, with both arms moving symmetrically, accompanied by the butterfly kick (also known as the "dolphin kick"). While other styles like the breaststroke, front crawl, or backstroke can be swum adequately by beginners, the butterfly is a more difficult stroke that requires good technique as well as strong muscles. It is the newest swimming style swum in competition, first swum in 1933 and originating out of the breaststroke. Speed and ergonomics The peak speed of the butterfly is faster than that of the front crawl due to the synchronous pull/push with both arms and legs, which is done quickly. Yet since speed drops significantly during the recovery phase, it is overall slightly slower than front crawl, especially over longer distances. 2014 South American Games
The 2014 South American Games was a multi-sport event that took place in Santiago, Chile. It was the 10th edition of the ODESUR South American Games. 2011 World Aquatics Championships
The 14th FINA World Championships () were held on 16–31 July 2011 in Shanghai, China at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. The 2011 World Championships featured five aquatics disciplines: swimming, water polo, diving, open water, and synchronized swimming. The 2009 FINA Swimming World Cup was a series of five short course (25 m) swimming meets, held in October and November 2009. Gabriella Machado e Silva (born December 12, 1988, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Brazilian butterfly swimmer and Olympian. As of October 2008, she was the South American and Brazilian record holder in the long-course 100-metre butterfly. At the 2007 Pan American Games, in Rio de Janeiro, Gabriella won the bronze medal in the 100-metre butterfly. She also won bronze in the 4×100-metre medley by participate in heats, but, subsequently, this result was impeached due to Rebeca Gusmao's doping. Gabriella competed at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, where she finished 7th in the Women's 100-metre butterfly, and was a member of Brazil's women's 4×100-metre medley Relay which finished 10th.
