Dawnay Family
Dawnay is a South African singer, producer and song writer best known for his hit "U Touch Me" which broke records in South Africa when it spent 22 weeks at the top of the charts in 2001, toppling artists such as Destiny's Child and Shaggy from the No. 1 position. Dawnay opened for Shaggy in 2002. In 2002 Dawnay also received a SAMA nomination for "Best pop album". Dawnay's hit song "You touch me", was also used in a " Simba" advert and the song was also the only local song used in the Coca-Cola pop stars auditions. Following South African success, WEA / Eternal (part of Warner Music) in the UK picked up the license. Eternal Records was a British imprint of Warner Bros. Records. Originally formed in the early 1980s as an imprint for various genres such as post-punk and new wave, it was later relaunched in the mid-1990s as an electronic/Eurodance imprint. Destiny's Child
Destiny's Child was an American girl group whose final line-up comprised Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. The group began their musical career as Girl's Tyme, formed in 1990 in Houston, Texas. After years of limited success, the original quartet comprising Knowles, Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett were signed in 1997 to Columbia Records as Destiny's Child. Orville Richard Burrell CD (born October 22, 1968), better known by his stage name Shaggy, is a Jamaican-American reggae rapper, singer, and songwriter who scored hits with the songs "It Wasn't Me", " Boombastic", "In The Summertime", "Oh Carolina", and "Angel". He has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards, winning twice for Best Reggae Album with ''Boombastic'' in 1996 and ''44/876'' with Sting in 2019, and has won the Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist in 2002. In 2007, he was awarded the Jamaican Order of Distinction with the rank of Commander. In 2022, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Brown University. South African Music Awards
The South African Music Awards (often simply the SAMAs) are the Recording Industry of South Africa's music industry awards, established in 1995. The ceremony is held annually, usually in late April or May, with the judging process starting in November of the previous year. The nominations are typically announced at the end of March. The winners receive a gold-plated statuette called a SAMA. The show has mostly been held at the Super Bowl in Sun City, with the exception of three years, and broadcast live on national broadcaster, SABC. Simba
Simba is a fictional character and the protagonist of Disney's ''The Lion King (franchise), The Lion King'' franchise. A remix (or reorchestration) is a piece of media which has been altered or contorted from its original state by adding, removing, or changing pieces of the item. The Almighty (band)
The Almighty were a Scottish hard rock/ heavy metal band from Glasgow formed in 1988. Three of the founding members, Ricky Warwick, Stump Monroe and Floyd London were friends who met at school. Although the band members musical roots were in punk, the Almighty adopted a more heavy metal/hard rock oriented musical direction in their early years. Later albums saw the band's musical style move towards the band members' original punk roots. They have released seven studio albums, two anthologies and one live album. Xenomania is an English songwriting and production team founded by Brian Higgins and based in Kent, England.
