Davy Burke
Davy Burke (born about 1987 or 8) is a Gaelic football manager and former player. He has been manager of the Roscommon county team since 2022. He formerly managed Wicklow. Career Burke's playing career (including underage with Kildare) was brought to an end by numerous injuries, including two torn cruciates and a cracked kneecap. He had a replacement plastic kneecap put in. Burke, who is from County Kildare, managed Kildare to the 2018 All-Ireland Under 20 Football Championship. Appointed in November 2017, he resigned in October 2018. He then managed Maynooth in the Sigerson Cup. While managing Sarsfields of Newbridge in 2019 (he led them to the 2019 Kildare Senior Football Championship), Burke was mentioned as a possible Kildare senior manager before Jack O'Connor took the role. Sarsfields GAA (Newbridge)
Sarsfields is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Newbridge in County Kildare, Ireland, winner of 25 Kildare Senior Football Championships. The club name is linked to Patrick Sarsfield's castle in the area and the colours, green with white sash, were based on the colours allegedly worn by Sarsfield's men. Pat "Boiler" White (grandfather of current Kildare footballer Gary White) was a member of the Kildare Gaelic football team of the millennium. Niall Buckley was an All Stars Award winner at midfield in 1997. Dermot Earley was an All Stars Award at left half forward winner in 1998 and at Mid-Field in 2009. 2019 Kildare Senior Football Championship
The 2019 Kildare Senior Football Championship is the 126th edition of the Kildare GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Kildare, Ireland. The tournament consists of 16 teams with the winner going on to represent Kildare in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship had a different format this year, employing a random draw for the first round, followed by seeded groups and a knock-out stage. Moorefield were the defending champions for the second year running after they defeated Athy in the previous years final. They were looking to do the first 3 in a row since the great Sarsfields teams of the 50's and looked good only for Barry Coffey to score an equalising point in injury time to send the final to a replay. Anthony Cunningham
Anthony Cunningham (born 16 June 1965) is a former hurler who has since managed various Gaelic football and hurling teams. He was manager of the Galway county hurling team between 2011 and 2015 and of the Roscommon county football team between 2018 and 2022. He is the only manager to lead a football team and a hurling team to provincial titles in two different provinces. Born in Peterswell, County Galway, Cunningham was raised in a hurling stronghold in the south of the county. He was a two-time Connacht medallist at colleges level with Our Lady's College while simultaneously joining the St Thomas's senior club team. Cunningham made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Galway minor team. Colin Kelly (Gaelic Footballer)
Colin Kelly is a Gaelic football manager and former player from Drogheda, County Louth. He played for the Louth county team between 1988 and 2002. He is the Wee County’s all-time leading scorer. He later managed Louth for three years. He led Louth to successive promotions in the National Football League in 2016 and 2017, though Louth did not make any championship impact during his time in charge. John Evans is a Gaelic football manager. He has managed three senior inter-county teams: Tipperary, Roscommon and Wicklow. Evans was the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship winning manager with Laune Rangers in 1996. Career Evans is from Killorglin, County Kerry. Before taking to inter-county management, he managed his local Laune Rangers team from the 1980s till the 2000s. He led them to the Kerry Championship in 1993 beating Annascaul, 1995 beating East Kerry and made it two in a row in 1996 by overcoming West Kerry. Jack O'Connor (Gaelic Footballer)
Jack O'Connor (born 23 October 1960) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player. In 2021, he was appointed manager of the senior Kerry county team, having earlier managed it over two terms in the 2000s. O'Connor played football with his local club Dromid Pearses from the 1970s until the early 2000s. Newbridge, officially known by its Irish name Droichead Nua (), is a town in County Kildare, Ireland. While the nearby Great Connell Priory was founded in the 13th century, the town itself formed from the 18th century onwards, and grew rapidly alongside a military barracks which opened in the early 19th century.
