Davida Afzelius-Bohlin
Davida Carolina Afzelius-Bohlin née Larsson (1866–1955) was a Swedish mezzo-soprano who performed in operas and concerts around the turn of the 20th century. She appeared for the first time when she was 17 at a concert in Gothenburg, the first of many she would give in Sweden and abroad. In May 1900, she made her debut at the Royal Swedish Opera as Amneris in ''Aida''. She was engaged by the Royal Opera until 1902. After marrying the music director Carl Bohlin in 1903, she appeared on occasion as an oratorio and concert singer. Biography Born in Gothenburg on 20 December 1866, David Carolina Larsson was the daughter of the farmer Johan Anton Larsson and his wife Hilda née Durchbach. Davida Young Teller (July 25, 1938 – October 11, 2011) was a professor in the Departments of Psychology and Physiology/Biophysics at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. She was a leader in the scientific study of infant visual development. Personal life and education Davida Young Teller was born in Yonkers, New York on July 25, 1938, to David and Jean (Sturges) Young. Davida and her four siblings (Richard, Jean Poole, Daniel, and Samuel) spent their childhood years in Connecticut. Davida attended Swarthmore College on a fellowship. Davida (minor planet designation: 511 Davida) is a large C-type asteroid. It is the one of the largest asteroids; approximately tied for 7th place, to within measurement uncertainties, and the 5th or 6th most massive. It was discovered by R. S. Dugan in 1903. Davida is named after David Peck Todd, an astronomy professor at Amherst College. Physical characteristics Davida is approximately 270–310 km in diameter and comprises an estimated 1.5% of the total mass of the asteroid belt. It is a C-type asteroid, which means that it is dark in colouring with a carbonaceous chondrite composition. From 2002 to 2007, astronomers at the Keck Observatory used the Keck II telescope, which is fitted with adaptive optics, to photograph Davida. The asteroid is not a dwarf planet: there are at least two promontories and at least one flat facet with 15-km deviations from a best-fit ellipsoid. Davida White (born 26 March 1967) is a former female rugby union player. She represented and Auckland. She was a member of the 1998 Women's Rugby World Cup winning squad.
