''ReGenesis'' is a Canadian science-fiction television series produced by The Movie Network and Movie Central in conjunction with Shaftesbury Films. The series, which ran for four seasons from 2004 to 2008, revolves around the scientists of NorBAC (North American Biotechnology Advisory Commission), a fictional organization with a lab based in the city of Toronto. The organization investigates problems of a scientific nature, such as bioterrorism, mysterious diseases, or radical changes in the environment throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico. NorBAC is headed by David Sandström (played by Peter Outerbridge), the chief scientist, and molecular biologist. Through this character, the show often addresses topical social, political, and ethical issues related to the science at hand. Conrad Pla
Conrad Pla (born October 24, 1966) is a Canadian actor and former professional kickboxer. He is best known for founding Tristar Gym and starring in the Canadian television series ''ReGenesis''. Early life Pla was born in Madrid and moved to Canada with his parents at the age of three. Career Pla was a professional kickboxer between the ages of 18 and 32. He competed in the light heavyweight and super middleweight division. With 26 pro fights, he was ranked 3rd in the world, was the International Sport Karate Association, ISKA North American Champion as well as the World Kickboxing Association, WKA Intercontinental Champion. He fought Javier Mendez (mixed martial arts trainer), Javier Mendez for the ISKA World title in Santa Cruz, California, in 1995 but lost a close split decision. Aled Morgan Edwards (born June 1, 1962) is the founder and Chief Executive of the Structural Genomics Consortium, a charitable public-private partnership. FX is a Latin American pay television channel. It is intended as a counterpart to Fox Life (now Star Life), the first being produced for the Young and Adult audience, while the latter is almost entirely programmed for the female viewers.
