David Muta
David Muta (born 24 October 1987) is a Papua New Guinean footballer who plays for Hekari United and the Papua New Guinea national football team. He captains both his club and the Papua New Guinea national team. Club career Muta started his playing career with Hekari United in 2006. Two years later, he joined Australian club Sunshine Coast FC and helped his side to win the Queensland State League title. On 6 December 2008, he played against LA Galaxy in an exhibition match in New Zealand, as part of an Oceania XI All-Star team. After moving back to Papua New Guinea, Muta captained Hekari United to victory in the OFC Champions League in 2010 and guided the team to the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Kimbe
Kimbe is the capital of the province of West New Britain in Papua New Guinea, and the largest settlement on the island. The bustling town of Kimbe is the third largest port in Papua New Guinea and is the fastest growing city in the South Pacific. The town of Kimbe is served by Hoskins Airport. 2010 FIFA Club World Cup
The 2010 FIFA Club World Cup (officially known as the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2010 presented by Toyota for sponsorship reasons) was a football tournament that was played from 8 to 18 December 2010. It was the seventh FIFA Club World Cup and was hosted by the United Arab Emirates. Other countries that placed bids were Australia and Japan. Portugal had initially placed a bid, but later withdrew from the process. OFC Champions League
The OFC Champions League, also known as the O-League, is the premier men's club soccer competition in Oceania. It is organised by the OFC, Oceania's football governing body. Beginning as the Oceania Club Championship (1987–2006), it has been organised since 2007 under its current format. The first four Club Championship titles were won by Australian clubs. Since 2006, 12 OFC titles have been won by clubs from New Zealand, one by a Papua New Guinean club and one by a New Caledonian club. The KPHL National Soccer League, also known as the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited National Soccer League for sponsorship reasons, is the men's top division of professional soccer in Papua New Guinea. 2011 Pacific Games
The 2011 Pacific Games (officially known as NC 2011) took place in Nouméa, New Caledonia, from August 27 to September 10, 2011. Nouméa was the 14th host of the Pacific Games. Upon closure of the registration for entries, "some 4,300 athletes" had registered from the twenty-two competing nations, although it was expected that not all would attend.
