David Lewis (tennis)
David Lewis (born 3 September 1964) is a former professional tennis player from New Zealand. He is a younger brother of 1983 Wimbledon finalist Chris Lewis and of Mark Lewis. He spent his childhood in Auckland and was educated at St Peter's College. Career Lewis and partner Tony Withers won the boys' doubles title in the 1981 Australian Open. He was a singles quarter-finalist in the boys' singles at the 1982 Australian Open and also won the New Zealand National Championships for the 18s age group that year. Most successful as a doubles player, Lewis was a runner-up in the 1990 Geneva Open with Neil Borwick. He appeared in four Grand Slam tournaments and had his best showing at the 1988 Australian Open, where he and Ivo Werner made the round of 16. Kelly Graeme Evernden (born 21 September 1961) is a former professional tennis player from New Zealand. Evernden turned professional in 1985 and won his first tour doubles title in 1986 at Cologne. His first top-level singles title came in 1987 at Bristol. His best singles performance at a Grand Slam event came at the 1987 Australian Open, where he reached the quarter-finals by defeating Jonathan Canter, Johan Kriek, Brad Pearce and Derrick Rostagno before being knocked-out by Wally Masur. Christer Allgårdh
Christer Allgårdh (born 20 February 1967) is a former professional tennis player from Sweden. Career Allgårdh won the doubles event at the 1982 Junior Orange Bowl, with Bruno Orešar of Yugoslavia. Back home in Sweden he was a national junior champion in 1979, 1981 and 1985. On the ATP Tour, Allgårdh was most prominent as a doubles player and won a tournament in his first ever Grand Prix appearance, at Bari in 1987. He won his second title in 1992, teaming up with Carl Limberger in the Guarujá Open. The Swede was also a finalist in two other events, but was unable to add any more titles. Shigeru Ota ( ja, 太田 茂; born 8 January 1967) is a Japanese former professional tennis player. Ota appeared in four Davis Cup ties for Japan between 1988 and 1990, winning one singles and one doubles rubber. Shuzo Matsuoka
is a retired Japanese professional tennis player, sports commentator, and entertainer. A former Wimbledon quarter-finalist, Matsuoka won one singles title during his career, in Seoul in 1992. In the same year, he reached a career-high ranking of world No. 46. Professional career Matsuoka turned professional in 1986. In 1989, he finished runner-up in the top-level tournament at Wellington, and captured the doubles title in Auckland. 1991 saw Matsuoka achieve his career-best Masters result, when he reached the quarter-finals of the 1991 Canada Masters in Montreal, beating Michael Chang in a dramatic 3-set battle en route. Johan Carlsson (tennis)
Johan Carlsson (born 29 January 1966) is a former professional tennis player from Sweden. Career Carlsson reached his first and only final on tour in the 1986 Japan Open, finishing runner-up. His previous best performance had come at the same tournament a year earlier, when he made the semi-finals. In 1986 he was also a quarter-finalist at Washington He defeated both Slobodan Živojinović and countryman Tobias Svantesson in the 1988 US Open, to make the third round, where he was knocked out of the tournament by Stefan Edberg. Steve Guy (born 15 March 1959) is a former professional tennis player from New Zealand. Career Guy appeared in the singles draw of three Australian Opens and never progressed past the second round. He did however, in the 1989 Australian Open, win the second set against third seed Boris Becker. David Engel (born 17 October 1967) is a former professional tennis player from Sweden. Career Engel participated in the singles draw of five Grand Slams and twice progressed to the second round. He defeated Marcio Rincon in the opening round of the 1990 US Open, before losing to John McEnroe and also had a win in his next Grand Slam event, the 1991 Australian Open, where he beat Kelly Evernden in four sets.
