David Howard (linebacker)
David Howard (born December 8, 1961) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. He also was a member of the Los Angeles Express in the United States Football League. He played college football at Long Beach State University. Early years Howard attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School, where he was the city co-player of the year in 1978. He accepted a football scholarship from Oregon State University and was a starter as a freshman at linebacker, but decided to transfer to Long Beach State at the end of the season. He was named the starter at middle linebacker as a sophomore. As a senior, he registered 89 tackles (51 solo), 6 tackles for loss and 2 fumble recoveries. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. Jesse Solomon
Jesse William Solomon (born November 4, 1963) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, and Miami Dolphins. He played college football at Florida State University. Early years Solomon attended Madison High School but he didn't play football until his junior year when he started on the defensive line. He was not allowed to play in his senior season because of differences with the school administration. He also practiced track. He moved on to North Florida Junior College where he played intramural football for one season. In 1983, he walked on at Florida State University and spent a year with the scout team. Issiac Holt
Issiac Holt III (born October 4, 1962) is a former professional American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Alcorn State University. With the Cowboys, he won Super Bowl XXVII over the Buffalo Bills. Early years Holt attended George Washington Carver High School. As a senior, he was named the area defensive back of the year. He accepted a football scholarship from Alcorn State University where he was named a starter at cornerback as a freshman, registering 5 interceptions (tied for the team lead), 32 tackles and one fumble recovery. Jimmy Johnson (American Football Coach)
James William Johnson (born July 16, 1943) is an American sports analyst and former football coach. Johnson served as a head football coach on the collegiate level from 1979 to 1988 and in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. He is the first head football coach to win both a college football national championship and a Super Bowl (Barry Switzer and Pete Carroll have since joined him), achieving the former with Miami and the latter with the Dallas Cowboys. Johnson held his first head football coaching position at Oklahoma State before becoming Miami's head football coach in 1984 and guided the team to victory in the 1988 Orange Bowl. Herschel Walker Trade
The Herschel Walker trade was the largest player trade in the history of the National Football League (NFL). This deal on October 12, 1989, centered on sending running back Herschel Walker from the Dallas Cowboys to the Minnesota Vikings. Including Walker and a transaction involving the San Diego Chargers, the trade eventually involved 18 players and draft picks. At the time of the deal, the Cowboys were one of the worst teams in the league (the team finished the 1989 season with its worst post-merger record, 1–15), trading away their best player, while the Vikings believed that Walker was the missing piece they needed to make a Super Bowl run. Scott Studwell
John Scott Studwell (born August 27, 1954) is a former professional American football player. He was nicknamed "Stud". College Studwell graduated from the University of Illinois, where he starred as a linebacker. He left Illinois ranked second behind Dick Butkus in career tackles in 1977, and was drafted in the ninth round by the Minnesota Vikings, for whom he played 14 seasons from 1977 to 1990. During that time, he was selected to two Pro Bowls.
