Issiac Holt
Issiac Holt III (born October 4, 1962) is a former professional American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Alcorn State University. With the Cowboys, he won Super Bowl XXVII over the Buffalo Bills. Early years Holt attended George Washington Carver High School. As a senior, he was named the area defensive back of the year. He accepted a football scholarship from Alcorn State University where he was named a starter at cornerback as a freshman, registering 5 interceptions (tied for the team lead), 32 tackles and one fumble recovery. The next year, he led the team with 7 interceptions, recorded 38 tackles and 10 passes defensed. During his junior season, he led the team with 6 interceptions and had 36 tackles. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The 1989 NFL season was the 70th regular season of the National Football League. Before the season, NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle announced his retirement. Paul Tagliabue was eventually chosen to succeed him, taking over on November 5. The San Antonio Gunslingers were a professional American football team based in San Antonio, Texas, that played in the United States Football League (USFL) in 1984 and 1985. Owned by oil magnate Clinton Manges, the team played its home games in Alamo Stadium and its colors were kelly green, royal blue, silver, and white. Rick Neuheisel was the team's quarterback.
