David Hill (Oregon Politician)
David Hill (1809 – May 9, 1850) was an American pioneer and settler of what became Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. He served in the Provisional Government of Oregon in both the executive and legislative branches, and later as a legislator in the first Oregon Territorial Legislature. Hill made a transaction with the county court in 1850 that led to the renaming of Columbus to Hillsborough in honor of Hill. Early life David Hill’s birthplace is listed as Connecticut in some sources, but there is no record of his birth. Some accounts have him living in Virginia, others in Ohio. One account describes that Hill abandoned a wife and children in Ohio before traveling west. Another account says he had two children by his first wife. David Alexander Hess (September 19, 1936 – October 7, 2011) was an American actor, singer, songwriter, and director. He came to prominence for his portrayals of murderous villains and gruff characters in several films in the 1970s and 1980s. Hess originally worked as a songwriter in the 1950s, co-writing songs recorded by Elvis Presley and Pat Boone, but garnered international attention for his feature film debut portraying Krug Stillo in Wes Craven's exploitation horror film ''The Last House on the Left'' (1972). He played several hard-edged roles as criminals and rapists in the Italian films ''Hitch-Hike'' (1977) and '' The House on the Edge of the Park'' (1980) as well as a supporting role in Craven's ''Swamp Thing'' (1982). David Mark Hill (May 24, 1960 – June 6, 2008) was an American spree killer who killed three people in South Carolina. Life Hill married Jacqueline Hill in 1991. They had three children, one of whom required the use of a wheelchair after an accident. After that incident, Hill experienced depression, panic attacks and seizures. In 1996, Hill received notice that his wife was filing for divorce, and he was accused of sexually abusing his daughter, who was quadriplegic. On September 16 of that year, Hill went to a North Augusta social services office and killed Michael Gregory, Josie Curry and Jimmy Riddle, who all worked at the office. According to court documents, Hill killed Riddle because he was involved in the case that removed his children from his home, killed Gregory because he had seen him with the gun, and killed Curry "because she was black." David Hill studied photography before beginning his career in music in 1994 as a member of the Ballistic Brothers, together with Ashley Beedle and Rocky & Diesel (of X-Press 2). The Ballistic Brothers released two albums, a number of singles, and also work with many artists, including the Brand New Heavies, D*Note, Ronny Jordan and Depeche Mode. In 1994 Hill co-founded the Nuphonic record label and managed all creative aspects, releasing albums with Faze Action, Norman Jay, Maurice Fulton, Andrew Weatherall and David Mancuso. In addition to the label, Nuphonic also produced the London Xpress radio show for Xfm. David Hill, (born on 13 May 1957 in Carlisle, Cumberland) is a choral conductor and organist. Beginning July 2013, he holds an appointment to the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. His highest-profile roles are as Chief Conductor of the BBC Singers from September 2007 until 2017, and Musical Director of The Bach Choir since April 1998. He also holds the positions Chief Conductor of the Southern Sinfonia, Music Director of the Leeds Philharmonic Society, Associate Conductor of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and President of Bath Bach Choir. Hill is President of the Incorporated Association of Organists, succeeding Catherine Ennis. David Hill (born May 21, 1946) is an Australian-born American executive producer who served as the president of Fox Sports from 1993 to 2000, and as a senior EVP of 21st Century Fox for twenty-four years. Biography After starting out at the Sydney Daily Telegraph and then working at Nine Network, he was hired by Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox in 1988 to help launch Sky Television and then Eurosport. Background and early career Born illegitimate, out of wedlock in Eastbourne in 1946, into an impoverished family of four boys, Hill and his twin brother spent time in Barnardo's children's home in Barkingside.
