David Harper (antiques Expert)
David Kingsley Harper (born 1967 in Middlesbrough, England) is an antiques expert, artist, speaker and writer. Harper's first television role was in 2005 as presenter of Channel 4's ''Natural Born Dealers''. He has been featured on ''Through the Keyhole'' and ''Ready Steady Cook'', and has presented pieces for ''The Heaven and Earth Show'', ''The One Show'', '' Inside Out'' and '' Countryfile Summer Diaries''. In April 2010 he won the first series of ''Antiques Road Trip'', raising £2488 for Children in Need from a starting budget of £200. In addition to regular appearances on ''Antiques Road Trip'', he appears as an antiques expert on ''Bargain Hunt'', '' Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is'' and ''Cash in the Attic''. Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough ( ) is a town on the southern bank of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, England. It is near the North York Moors national park. Barnard Castle
Barnard Castle (, ) is a market town on the north bank of the River Tees, in County Durham, Northern England. The town is named after and built around a medieval castle ruin. The town's Bowes Museum's has an 18th-century Silver Swan automaton exhibit and paintings by Goya and El Greco. It sits on the opposite bank to Startforth and is south-west of the county town of Durham. ''Cash in the Attic'' is a British television programme that aired on BBC One from 4 November 2002 to 24 May 2012. The programme's tagline was ''The show that helps you find hidden treasures in your home, and then sells them for you at auction''. The show was revived by Channel 5 in November 2021 for broadcast in 2022. Format In the show, the presenter visited a family's house to find out what they need to raise money for. ''Bargain Hunt'' is a British television programme in which two pairs of contestants are challenged to buy antiques from shops or a fair and then sell them in an auction for a profit. It has aired on BBC One since 13 March 2000 in a daytime version, and from 22 August 2002 to 13 November 2004 in a primetime version. Bargain Hunt was originally presented by David Dickinson. From 2003 to January 2016 it was presented by Tim Wonnacott. In 2016 the format changed to a rota of hosts from a "team of experts" fronting the series. ''Antiques Road Trip'' (also known as ''Celebrity Antiques Road Trip'') is a BBC television series produced by STV Studios. It was first shown on BBC Two from 2010 to 2012, and has been shown on BBC One since 2013. This show is not to be confused with ''Antiques Roadshow''. Format Regular In the programme two antiques experts compete against each other. They get a budget of £200 with which to buy antiques and collectibles, that are then sold at auction. After each auction, the amount in each expert's kitty after costs are deducted becomes their budget for the next leg. The winner is the expert who makes the greater profit over five legs, with whatever money is left in the kitty at the end being donated to the charity Children in Need.
