Antiques Road Trip
''Antiques Road Trip'' (also known as ''Celebrity Antiques Road Trip'') is a BBC television series produced by STV Studios. It was first shown on BBC Two from 2010 to 2012, and has been shown on BBC One since 2013. This show is not to be confused with ''Antiques Roadshow''. Format Regular In the programme two antiques experts compete against each other. They get a budget of £200 with which to buy antiques and collectibles, that are then sold at auction. After each auction, the amount in each expert's kitty after costs are deducted becomes their budget for the next leg. The winner is the expert who makes the greater profit over five legs, with whatever money is left in the kitty at the end being donated to the charity Children in Need. Each leg is a single programme, which are normally broadcast stripped from Monday to Friday. The experts travel to their different destinations in a classic car, which changes each week. Tim Wonnacott
Timothy Wonnacott (born 12 March 1951) is an English chartered auctioneer, chartered surveyor, antiques expert, narrator, and a television presenter. He was previously a director of Sotheby's, one of the world's oldest auction houses. He is best known for having presented the BBC daytime programme '' Bargain Hunt'' from 2003 until 2015, and has been the narrator of '' Antiques Road Trip'' since it began in 2010. Education Wonnacott was educated at the independent West Buckland School in Devon; after qualifying as a chartered auctioneer and chartered surveyor, he took a postgraduate course at the Victoria and Albert Museum in fine and decorative arts. Charlie Ross (antiques Expert)
Charlie Ross (born June 1950 in Buckinghamshire, England) is a British antiques expert, presenter and auctioneer, known for regular appearances on several BBC Antique programmes. Professional career Ross started his career in 1968 after leaving school joining a local firm of estate agents and found himself auctioning chickens and turkeys. He progressed from these to antique furniture, and later established his own auction house in Woburn near Milton Keynes. He stood down in February 2008. Anita Manning (born 1 December 1947) is a Scottish antiques expert and television personality from Glasgow. She is well known for her appearances since 2010 as an expert and presenter on the BBC's ''Bargain Hunt'', ''Flog It!'' and the ''Antiques Road Trip''. Paul Laidlaw is a Scottish auctioneer, known for his appearances on television game-shows related to antiques. Early life Laidlaw was born in Edinburgh, obtaining a degree in mathematics from the University of Edinburgh with a view to working for NASA.
