David Diao
David Diao (born 1943) is a Chinese American artist and teacher based in New York City. Background Diao 刁德谦 was born in Chengdu, in China. Several years of his childhood were spent in Hong Kong, at the moment of the revolution in October 1949, before he ultimately settled in the United States. His father was a student in the US and later became a structural engineer. He joined him in NY in 1955, being 12 years old. Career Diao completed his undergraduate degree at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and in 1964 he moved back to New York. There he began working as an artist in the late 1960s. Firstly, he got the job as the sweeper-upper at the Kootz Gallery. Sam Kootz, the owner of this gallery, was among the first to show Abstract Expressionism. Walid Raad (Ra'ad) (Arabic: وليد رعد) (born 1967 in Chbanieh, Lebanon) is a contemporary media artist. The Atlas Group is a fictional collective, the work of which is produced by Walid Raad. He lives and works in New York, where he is currently a professor at the School of Art at the Cooper Union School of Art. His works to date include film, photography, multimedia installations, and accompanying public performances. All, in one way or another, deal with the contemporary history of Lebanon with particular emphasis on the Lebanese Civil War of 1975–90. ShanghART Gallery
ShanghART Gallery is founded in 1996 by Swiss gallerist Lorenz Helbling as one of the first contemporary art galleries established in China. Le Consortium is a contemporary art center based in Dijon founded by Xavier Douroux & Franck Gautherot, among others, from the association Le Coin du Miroir (The Corner Mirror). The center was run by Douroux, in collaboration with Gautherot and Eric Troncy. In 1982, The consortium was awarded the Art Center label, and moved to an old appliance store in downtown Dijon and in 1983, Le Coin du Miroir, À La Limite and Déjà Vu joined and became a single entity. Office Baroque
Office Baroque is a Belgian contemporary art gallery situated in Antwerp. The gallery was originally incorporated in 2007 in an apartment on Harmoniestraat in Antwerp by Marie Denkens and Wim Peeters. The gallery occupied a location on Lange Kievitstraat in Antwerp from 2008 till 2013. It opened its first gallery in Brussels on 7 November 2013 with an exhibition by French/American artist Michel Auder. In a 1909 cast-iron building by the Brussels architect Paul Hamesse, he was part of the Art Nouveau generation. Postmasters Gallery
Postmasters is a contemporary art gallery located in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood, owned and directed by Magda Sawon and Tamas Banovich. The Postmasters gallery opened in the East Village in December 1984, moved to SoHo in 1989, and was relocated to Chelsea in September 1998. In June 2013 Postmasters was moved to 54 Franklin Street in Tribeca, taking over a ground-floor space complete with a large functional basement. The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art (Cooper Union) is a private college at Cooper Square in New York City.
