Dave Carter (born 8 August 1947) is a British powerlifter and is a former British, European and World Powerlifting champion, competing in the 125kg deadlift and squat categories. David Thomas Carter was born in Aldershot in Hampshire. For every year between 1988 and 2007 (except for 1996 and 1998) he held the World Deadlift Record, similarly holding the European Record in the same category for 1976 and 1991 to 2007. He was a holder of 16 British titles, including 1975 to 1998 (except 1977 to 1979, 1981 and 1987) when he held the British record for the deadlift. In 1994 with Brian Smith he reformed British powerlifting, setting up the properly regulated British Powerlifting Organisation. He is the President of the British Powerlifting Organisation (BPO) and the World Powerlifting Federation (WPF). David Malcolm Carter (born 16 June 1972) is an English golfer. Carter was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and represented his country of birth at junior level. He later moved to England and turned professional in 1989. After several visits to qualifying school he had his rookie season on the European Tour in 1995. His best season was 1998, when he won the Murphy's Irish Open, which remains his only official money victory on the tour, and finished 19th on the Order of Merit. However he is probably best known for winning that year's World Cup for England in partnership with Nick Faldo. He also won the 1996 Indian PGA Championship. In March 1997 Carter almost lost his life when he required emergency brain surgery after collapsing in his hotel in Dubai. Carter moved to the Czech Republic in 2008. David Charles Michael Carter (born November 4, 1981) is a Canadian field hockey player who is the goalie for the Canada men's national field hockey team. He made his international debut on home soil against Chile in 2007 and registered a 1–1 draw. His first career win came at the Azlan Shah Cup Tournament in Malaysia against Belgium (4–3, extra-time) in 2008. David H. Carter Jr. (born December 10, 1987) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football at UCLA. Early years Carter attended Henry J. Kaiser High School in Fontana, California. David Allen Carter (born March 12, 1967) is an American college basketball coach who is an assistant coach at Loyola Marymount University. From 1999 to 2009, Carter was an assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno, under Trent Johnson from 1999 to 2004 and Mark Fox from 2004 to 2009, including as associate head coach beginning in 2005. On April 3, 2009, Carter became head coach after Fox left to become head coach at Georgia. Carter was fired by the University of Nevada, Reno in March 2015. David John Haskins (born 24 April 1957, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England), better known as David J, is a British alternative rock musician, producer, and writer. He is the bassist for the gothic rock band Bauhaus and for Love and Rockets.
