David Barrie
David Barrie (born December 12, 1980) is a Canadian professional soccer referee, and is a member of the Professional Referee Organization. He officiates in Major League Soccer, USL Championship, and USL League One in the United States and in the Canadian Premier League in Canada. Career Barrie began officiating at the youth level with the Bedfordshire FA, while he was in Luton, England with his family. In 2006, he was licensed by the Ontario Soccer Association, and began referring matches in the Canadian Soccer League (CSL) in 2009. In 2010, he was selected for the Canadian Soccer Association National List of Match Officials. In 2011, he was named the CSL Referee Year, and received the award once more the following year. In 2014, he officiated the CIS Championship final. He made his North American Soccer League match official debut on May 1, 2011 in a match with FC Edmonton against Montreal Impact. The Ontario Soccer Association, founded in 1901, is one of the oldest and largest sport organizations in Canada. The OSA currently has more than 500,000 registered participants and provides development opportunities for players, coaches, referees, and administrators. Montreal Impact (1992–2011)
The Montreal Impact (french: Impact de Montréal) was a Canadian professional association football, soccer club based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1993, the team played in the United Soccer League. Later, the Impact played in the North American Soccer League (2011), North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid until the 2011 season. The owner Joey Saputo now operates the Major League Soccer, MLS team CF Montréal, which also carried the Montreal Impact name until 2021. FC Edmonton was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club was founded in 2010 and competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 2011 to 2017.
