David Barklage
David Barklage (born April 21, 1961) is a Republican political consultant from Missouri. He is President of The Barklage Company. Background Early life and education Barklage was raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and attended Cape Girardeau Central High School, where he was elected Student Body President. He then attended Southeast Missouri State University where he was elected to the Cape Girardeau City Council. Political career Political Consulting Barklage began working in politics when he was a senior in college when he served as Campaign Manager to U.S. Congressman Bill Emerson. Barklage is the longtime political consultant and advisor to Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter D. Kinder. Cape Girardeau ( , french: Cap-Girardeau ; colloquially referred to as "Cape") is a city in Cape Girardeau and Scott Counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) is a public university in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. In addition to the main campus, the university has four regional campuses offering full degree programs and a secondary campus housing the Holland College of Arts and Media. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Enrolling nearly 12,000 students, Southeast offers more than 175 undergraduate degree programs and 75 graduate programs. Bill Emerson
Norvell William Emerson (January 1, 1938 – June 22, 1996) was an American politician. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Missouri from 1981 until his death from lung cancer in Bethesda, Maryland in 1996. He was succeeded in the House by his widow, Jo Ann Emerson. Emerson was a Republican. Early life Emerson was raised in Jefferson County, Missouri and attended public schools in nearby Hillsboro.
