David Anderson (Manx Politician)
David Moore Anderson MHK (born 6 February 1954) is a former Member of the House of Keys for Glenfaba. He also served in a number of ministerial posts on the Isle of Man and is therefore a former member of the Council of Ministers. Political career Anderson was elected as a Member of the House of Keys in 2001 for Glenfaba. He was re-elected in 2006 and 2011. He had previously served as a Commissioner for the parish of Patrick from 1992 until his election to the House of Keys. He was elected to the Legislative Council in 2015, for what was intended to be a five-year term, but he announced his early retirement in 2018. He was called to resign by protesters following his support of legislation which would have prohibited the advocacy of homosexuality in schools. Cumbria
Cumbria ( ) is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in North West England, bordering Scotland. The county and Cumbria County Council, its local government, came into existence in 1974 after the passage of the Local Government Act 1972. Cumbria's county town is Carlisle, in the north of the county. Other major settlements include Barrow-in-Furness, Kendal, Whitehaven and Workington. Raymond Karl Harmer is a former Member of the House of Keys for Glenfaba & Peel in the Isle of Man, and the current Minister for Policy and Reform. Walter Gilbey (politician)
Walter Anthony Gilbey (born 26 February 1935) is a British politician and entrepreneur, who is a former Member of the House of Keys on the Isle of Man. Early life and career Gilbey was born on 26 February 1935 to Sir Walter Gilbey, 2nd Baronet. He was educated at Eton College and became a merchant banker in London. His other business roles have included being the Finance Director of Distillers and Vinters Ltd. He was until 2008 a Director of the Isle of Man Steam Packet, but remains director of Vannin International Securities. Walter is also interested in hunting and is the Master of the Isle of Man Hunt and Secretary of the Isle of Man Horse Council. In his 30s, he was elected to the Berkshire County Council and stood as the Conservative Party candidate for the House of Commons in Ealing Southall in 1974. Commonwealth Games
The Commonwealth Games, often referred to as the Friendly Games or simply the Comm Games, are a quadrennial international multi-sport event among athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The event was first held in 1930, and, with the exception of 1942 and 1946 (cancelled due to World War II), have successively run every four years since. Newton Rigg College was an agricultural college near Penrith, Cumbria, Penrith, Cumbria, England, founded in 1896 as the Cumberland and Westmorland Farm School.
