Belford West
David Belford West (May 7, 1896 – September 11, 1973) was an American gridiron football player. Best known for playing college football for Colgate, he was twice a consensus All-America selection and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1954. He also played professionally for the Canton Bulldogs. Biography West prepared for college by attending Phillips Andover in Massachusetts and Peddie School in New Jersey. He then attended Colgate University, located in his hometown of Hamilton, New York. He played four seasons of college football for Colgate as a tackle; 1914, 1915, 1916, and 1919. West's college career was interrupted by World War I. He served in the United States Army as a lieutenant from August 1917 to May 1919. David Lee West (September 1, 1964May 14, 2022) was an American professional baseball pitcher who played ten seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the New York Mets, Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies, and Boston Red Sox from 1988 to 1998. He also played one season in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in 1997. Early life West was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 1, 1964. He attended Craigmont High School in his hometown, where he pitched for the school's baseball team. After his graduation in 1983, the New York Mets selected him in the fourth round of the 1983 MLB draft. David Moorer West (born August 29, 1980) is an American former professional basketball player who played 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the New Orleans Hornets, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors. David Christopher West (born 16 November 1964 in Dorchester) is an English former professional footballer. West played for Westwey Dynamoes before joining Weymouth as a junior. He progressed to the youth set-up at Bournemouth before joining the youth system at Dorchester Town. He played for Dorchester YMCA and the England Under-18 team before graduating into Dorchester Town's first team. He was signed by Bob Paisley for Liverpool in 1983 for a fee of £15,000. He played on a pre-season tour of the Netherlands, but had to settle for reserve team football in the Central League, although he did twice make the bench in the European Cup. Disillusioned with reserve team football he asked new Liverpool manager Joe Fagan if he could go out on loan. Fagan's response was to release him. On December 15, 1989, the Memphis Rogues of the American Indoor Soccer Association signed West. In 1990, Memphis moved to the Sunbelt Independent Soccer League. David West, RSW (1868–1936) was a watercolour painter of land, sea and sky. He was born on 12 November 1868 in Lossiemouth, the youngest of 12 children, and died 8 October 1936 in Glasgow following a seizure. Life and career West was the son of Captain James West, commander of a sailing schooner. His early education was at Lossiemouth and then Elgin Academy. West’s parents moved to Aberdeen in 1883 and so he became a pupil at the Aberdeen Grammar School which he left the following year to go to sea with his father. Before this, he found time to attend the Aberdeen Mechanics Institute and studied life drawing. During his time as a seaman he continued to paint culminating in his award of a gold medal at the Industry and Art Exhibition in Aberdeen in 1888. David West is a Canadian politician. He has been mayor of Richmond Hill, Ontario since January 2022. As mayor, he also sits on York Regional Council. Early life West's father Ian, was born in Rydal Bank, Ontario. West attended Langstaff Secondary School in Richmond Hill, which is where he met his wife. He then received a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto. He returned to Richmond Hill c. 1990.
