Dave Roberts (California Politician)
David W. Roberts (born 1960) is an American politician from Solana Beach, California. He was the county supervisor for San Diego County from 2012 to 2016, representing district 3, which includes portions of San Diego and most of north San Diego County. He was formerly the Mayor of Solana Beach. He is a Democrat. Early life and education He was born and raised in Riverton, Connecticut, in 1960. His family has resided in Connecticut for 11 generations since 1629. After graduating from Northwestern Regional #7 high school he attended The Citadel, but left after he was beaten by a fellow cadet because of his sexual orientation. He wound up at American University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a BA in political science/economics and an MPA. Lowell Weicker
Lowell Palmer Weicker Jr. (; born May 16, 1931) is an American politician who served as a U.S. Representative, U.S. Senator, and the 85th Governor of Connecticut. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 1980. He was known as a Rockefeller Republican in Congress, causing conservative-leaning Republicans to endorse his opponent Joe Lieberman, a New Democrat, in the 1988 Senate election which he subsequently lost. Weicker later left the Republican Party, and became one of the few third-party candidates to be elected to a state governorship in the United States in recent years, doing so on the ticket of A Connecticut Party. As of 2022, Weicker is the last person to have represented Connecticut in the U.S. Senate as a Republican. Brian Phillip Bilbray (born January 28, 1951) is an American Republican politician who represented parts of San Diego County in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2001 and again from 2006 to 2013. A plastic bag ban is a law that restricts the use of lightweight plastic bags at retail establishments. In the early 21st century, there has been a global trend towards the phase-out of lightweight plastic bags. Single-use plastic shopping bags, commonly made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plastic, have traditionally been given for free to customers by stores when purchasing goods: the bags have long been considered a convenient, cheap, and hygienic way of transporting items.
