Dave Regis
David Regis (born 3 March 1964) is an English retired professional footballer who played as a striker. He scored 53 goals from 237 appearances in the Football League in the 1990s, notably for Stoke City and Notts County. Playing career Regis was born in Paddington, London. He began his playing career in non-league football with clubs including Dunstable Town, Fisher Athletic, Windsor & Eton and Barnet. Barnet sold him for a fee of £25,000 to Notts County, where he began his professional career at the age of 26. He also played professionally for Plymouth Argyle, Bournemouth, Stoke City (two seasons), Birmingham City, Southend United, Barnsley (where he was a member of the squad promoted to the Premier League, making four appearances that season), Peterborough United, Leyton Orient, Lincoln City and Scunthorpe United, where he finished his professional career in 1998, having made 231 league appearances. Paddington
Paddington is an area within the City of Westminster, in Central London. First a medieval parish then a metropolitan borough, it was integrated with Westminster and Greater London in 1965. Hucknall, formerly Hucknall Torkard, is a market town in the Ashfield district of Nottinghamshire, England. It lies 7 miles north of Nottingham, 7 miles south-east of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, 9 miles from Mansfield and 10 miles south of Sutton-in-Ashfield. It is the second largest town in the Ashfield district after Sutton-in-Ashfield. Hucknall is north-west of Nottingham, on the west bank of the Leen Valley, on land which rises from the Trent Valley in the south and extends northwards to Kirkby-in-Ashfield. Jason Roberts (footballer)
Jason Andre Davis Roberts MBE (born 25 January 1978) is a former professional footballer who is now Director of Development at CONCACAF. Born in Park Royal, London, Roberts was playing football from an early age, and spent time in the youth academies at several professional clubs, but was not retained. After a spell in non-league football with Hayes, he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1997. He failed to make a first-team appearance for Wolves, and had loan spells at Torquay United and Bristol City before signing for Bristol Rovers in 1998. He quickly established himself in the first team, scoring 38 goals in his two seasons at the club. After the club failed to gain promotion, Roberts handed in a transfer request and was sold to West Bromwich Albion in July 2000. John Regis (athlete)
John Paul Lyndon Regis, MBE (born 13 October 1966) is an English former sprinter. During his career, he won gold medals in the 200 metres at the 1989 World Indoor Championships and the 1990 European Championships, and a silver medal in the distance at the 1993 World Championships. He was a member of the British teams which won the gold medal in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the 1991 World Championships, and the silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1988 Olympic Games. Regis is still the British 200 metres record-holder, which he set in 1994. Career Regis's most significant successes in individual events came when competing in the 200 metres. He was the first British athlete to run under 20 seconds for the distance, and still holds the UK record for the event. Cyrille Regis, MBE (9 February 1958 – 14 January 2018) was a professional footballer who played as a forward. His professional playing career spanned 19 years, where he made 614 league appearances and scored 158 league goals, most prolifically at West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City. Born in French Guiana, Regis also won five caps with the England national team. Non-League football describes football leagues played outside the top leagues of a country. Usually, it describes leagues which are not fully professional.
