Davao People Mover
The Davao People Mover is a proposed 16-station monorail line to be built in Davao City, Philippines. Once completed, it will be the city's first rapid transit line and the first monorail system in the Philippines. History The Davao City government requested for a Korean firm to operate a light rail system in the city, following the success of the Manila Light Rail Transit System. The Korean firm recommended to build a monorail instead of a true light rail system. It was first announced to the public on October 23, 2018. Design The line will be long and will begin near the intersection of Pan-Philippine Highway and Davao–Cotabato Road (known locally as MacArthur Highway). It will traverse the latter road to Davao Poblacion where it will pass by City Hall. It will also pass through a number of roads in the area before aligning with J.P. Monorail
A monorail (from "mono", meaning "one", and "rail") is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail or a beam. Colloquially, the term "monorail" is often used to describe any form of elevated rail or people mover. More accurately, the term refers to the style of track.The term "track" is used here for simplicity. Technically the monorail sits on or is suspended from a guideway containing a singular structure. There is an additional generally accepted rule that the support for the car be narrower than the car. SM Lanang Premier, also known locally as SM Lanang, is an indoor four-story shopping mall in Lanang, Davao City, Philippines along Jose P. Laurel Avenue and within S.P Dakudao loop. It is the first SM Supermall to be called "Premier". The mall is owned by Henry Sy, Sr. and managed by SM Prime Holdings. Construction of the mall started in 2011 and opened to the public on September 28, 2012, on the site of the former Lanang Golf and Country Club. The mall has a gross floor area of making it one of the largest shopping malls in Mindanao. The mall has 273 stores along with several restaurants. Mindanao Railway
The Mindanao Railway, previously known as the Trans-Mindanao High Speed Railway, is a proposed inter-city rail system in Mindanao, the southernmost major island of the Philippines. Originally proposed in 1936 as part of Manuel L. Quezon's efforts to strengthen the presence of Commonwealth government in Mindanao against the rising influence of Imperial Japan before World War II, the line was shelved.
