Darryl Suasua
Darryl Bill Suasua (born 1966) is the current head coach of Counties Manukau in the Mitre 10 Cup, and a former coach of the New Zealand women's national rugby union team. He coached the Black Ferns for seven years in which they won both the 1998 and 2002 Women's Rugby World Cups. They also won the 1996 and 2000 Canada Cups. Suasua also coached the New Zealand women's sevens side for the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai. They lost to Australia in the finals 10–15. Suasua was also a Backs Assistant Coach for under Head Coach Stephen Betham. Counties Manukau Rugby Union
The Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union (CMRFU) is the governing body of rugby union in Southern Auckland and the Franklin district of New Zealand. Nicknamed the ''Steelers'', their colours are red, white, and black horizontal bands. The Steelers moniker is a reference to the Glenbrook steel factory, which is in the area. The union is based in Pukekohe, and plays at Navigation Homes Stadium. History The union was preceded by the "South Auckland" sub-union of the Auckland Rugby Football Union, the sub-union being founded in 1926. This became a full union, with the name "South Auckland Counties", in 1955. The name was shortened to "Counties" just a year later. The name Counties Manukau was adopted in 1995. Australia Women's National Rugby Union Team (sevens)
The Australia women's national rugby sevens team, are the Australia national rugby sevens team of women. They were champions of the inaugural Women's Sevens World Cup in 2009. The team plays in the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series as one of the "core teams" on the world tour, of which they have been crowned Champions three times. The team also played in the preceding competition to the current world series, the IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup. In 2016, they won the inaugural gold medal at the Rio Summer Olympics. Team name The national sevens side is known as Australia and, as confirmed by captain Sharni Williams, does not have a nickname as of 2015. Jed Rowlands
Jed Rowlands is a New Zealand rugby union coach. He coached the Black Ferns, the New Zealand women's national rugby team from 2003 to 2006. Rowlands coached Taranaki in the NPC from 1997 and 1998, he took them to the semifinals in his final year. In 1999, Rowlands coached the Auckland Blues Super Rugby professional side. After finishing ninth at the end of the Super Rugby season, he was released as Blues head coach and as Auckland's coach without ever leading them into a game. Vicky Dombroski
Vicky Dombroski is a former coach of the New Zealand women's national rugby union team. She was also a selector and manager of the team. To date, she is the only woman to have coached the Black Ferns. She played for Taranaki. In the late 1980s, the women's rugby movement was emerging but recognition and assistance from the New Zealand Rugby Football Union wasn't available. In frustration, Dombroski wrote a letter to the NZRFU in 1988 requesting permission to have a club competition in Taranaki. She received a letter from former All Blacks coach, John Stewart on behalf of the NZRFU stating that they were in favour of women taking an active role in the game.
