Darragh Leader
Darragh Leader (born 22 May 1993) is a retired rugby player from Ireland. His primary position is at Fullback (rugby union), fullback, though he has also played on the Wing (rugby union), wing. Leader plays for Connacht Rugby, Connacht in the Pro14, having come through Connacht's academy. Early life Born in Galway, Leader grew up in Castlegar, County Galway, Castlegar, just outside the city. He is a former pupil of St. Joseph's Patrician College, one of the city's secondary schools, and a studied at the local university NUI Galway, where he graduated with a Commerce degree. Leader comes from a strong rugby family, with his older brother, Tadhg Leader, Tadhg, being a former member of the Connacht academy, while Greg, the eldest brother, played for the province at underage level. 2013–14 Heineken Cup
The 2013–14 Heineken Cup was the 19th and final season of the Heineken Cup, the annual rugby union European club competition for clubs from the top six nations in European rugby. The pool stage began on 11 October 2013 and ran through to 17–19 January 2014, followed by the knockout stages culminating in the final. The final was originally to be held in France in May 2014, however the Federation Française de Rugby subsequently announced that they had withdrawn their application to host due to uncertainty over the availability of Stade de France. The 2012–13 Pro12 League (also known as the ''RaboDirect Pro12'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 12th season of the rugby union competition originally known as the Celtic League, the third with its current 12-team format, and the second with RaboDirect as title sponsor. Ospreys were the defending champions, but they failed to qualify for the end-of-season playoffs. New Zealand National Under-20 Rugby Union Team
The New Zealand Under 20's Rugby Team are the representative Rugby Union team from New Zealand. They replace the two former age grade teams Under 19s and Under 21s. Their first tournament was the 2008 IRB Junior World Championship, which they won after defeating England 38–3 in the final. They have gone on to also win the 2009, 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2017 World Rugby Under 20's Championship. The team also competes in the Oceania U20 Championship as of 2015. 2013 IRB Junior World Championship
The 2013 IRB Junior World Championship was the sixth annual international rugby union competition for Under 20 national teams. The event was organised in France by rugby's governing body, the IRB. A total of twelve nations played in the tournament. South Africa went into the tournament as defending champions, after winning the tournament for the first time in 2012. England were crowned the 2013 champions for the first time after defeating Wales 23–15 in the final on the 23 June at Stade de la Rabine in Vannes. After finishing last at the 2012 IRB Junior World Championship, Italy were relegated to the IRB Junior World Trophy and therefore didn't participate in this year's event. Zebre Parma (, meaning "Zebras") are an Italian professional rugby union team competing in the United Rugby Championship and EPCR competitions from the 2012–13 season. Centre (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. The Sportsground, also known as The Galway Sportsgrounds and the Galway Greyhound Stadium and the Connacht Rugby Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Galway, Ireland. It opened in 1927, with the playing of a football match and has been used to host Connacht Rugby matches and greyhound racing since that time. It is used as a base by Connacht Rugby for training and hosting matches at all levels. Greyhound racing takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings. Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments. The British and Irish Cup was an annual rugby union competition for second tier, semi-professional clubs and the reserves or developing teams from professional clubs from Great Britain and Ireland. It took place for the first time in the 2009–10 season, and ran for 9 seasons. After clubs from the English Championship decided to withdraw from the 2018-19 season, the competition was abolished. The Welsh and Irish rugby unions thereafter reinstituted the Celtic Cup competition for its development sides.
