Darlington Ngonidzashe Murasiranwa (born February 7, 2001) is a Zimbabwean footballer who plays for Valour FC in the Canadian Premier League. Early life Murasiranwa was born in Zimbabwe, later moving to South Africa where he began playing football in Cape Town with Barca Juniors at age 9. When he was 13, he moved to Edmonton, Canada, re-uniting with his parents (including meeting his father for the first time), who had moved to North America, when Darlington was an infant in search of a better life for the family due to the economic hardships in their homeland, leaving him with his grandparents. In Edmonton, he joined the FC Edmonton academy. He joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy at U16 level, before returning to the FC Edmonton academy. FC Edmonton was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club was founded in 2010 and competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 2011 to 2017. Shepshed (often known until 1888 as ''Sheepshed'', also ''Sheepshead'' – a name derived from the village being heavily involved in the wool industry) is a town in Leicestershire, England with a population of 13,505 at the 2011 census. They played in the Canadian Premier League, which it co-founded and played in since the inception of both the club and the league. The club entered the Canadian Championship in the preliminary round. The 2021 FC Edmonton season was the club's tenth competitive season as well as their third in the Canadian Premier League. Overview The 2021 season was very disappointing for FC Edmonton. Edmonton's average home attendance of 961 was by far the lowest in the league, and the team finished in 7th out of 8 teams. Additionally, the club shut down its academy.
