Dark The Suns
Dark the Suns is a melodic dark/gothic metal band formed in 2005 in Jyväskylä, Finland. They are signed to Firebox Records. History Founded as a solo project by vocalist and guitarist Mikko Ojala in 2005, a demo was followed by the release of the full-length In Darkness Comes Beauty in 2006 once Dark the Suns became a full band. 2007 and 2008 brought local gigs, and a short Baitian mini-tour in May 2008. Some line-up changes occurred, including drummer Eino and keyboardist Pinja replacing Markus and Juha respectively. Later in the year Juha returned as a second guitarist. The second album was called ''All Ends In Silence'' and got enthusiastic reviews. The EP ''The Dead End'' was released in autumn 2008, and it features a cover of HIM's " When Love and Death Embrace". Death-doom is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal. It combines the slow tempos and pessimistic or depressive mood of doom metal with the deep growling vocals and double kick drumming of death metal. The album was recorded in fifteen days during the summer of 1997 with producer Hiili Hiilesmaa, whom vocalist Ville Valo has credited as the honorary sixth member of the band due his help in honing the band's sound, and released on 3 November 1997.
